arms look tiny from the back

CollegeKid

New member
i was checking my arms out in the mirror today and noticed that they look pretty damn big from the side and front, but from the back they look TINY. i think it's because lately my back has gotten huge, and so it makes my arms look really small in comparison from behind. any ideas on how to make them look better from behind?

does anyone know what stores sell cloth measuring tapes so u can measure bicep, legs, etc.?

i noticed that on the wsb seminar tapes, with dave and matt the guy he had demonstrating execercises, while they had big arms, they looked pretty small from behind. Probably has to do with the way you develop your triceps.

You can even find them in grocery stores in those strange miscellaneous isles. I got mine from Albertsons.

Like everybody else said, its your tris that determine how your arms look from the rear. There's a school of thought that says to hit the part of the tri that has that nice diamond tie-in at the rear start doing your tri lifts with elbows out. Unfortunately this is another thing largely influenced by genetics.

And if your back is big it can make them seem small, wich is my case too, just keep hitting them man, they will grow, they have too, it just takes time, your body will grow to a point where your arms will HAVE to grow bigger too, time my friend..time !

oh and weighted dips & close grip benches are good.

thanks guys.... time to blow up the triceps i guess. i've been hitting up the weighted dips with the 45er, time to bump that up i guess. big arms here i come!

concentrate more on cable pressdowns. i used to do a lot of db extension and the horseshoes got pretty big but my arms still looked small from behind. lately i've been doing a lot of heavy cable pressdowns and clearly my arms have improved big time when lookin from behind. my triceps have gotten wider especially the area near the armpits. but now i have the problems of my arms lookin bad from the side. LOL so now i have to go back and incorporate some db extension again into my tris workout.

are you doing the cable pressdowns with the rope or the straight bar? i've been doin it with the rope so far..

i'd do it with a bar, i usually use the flat one. I did 4 sets of these today and they definatly do hit the tricep good, especially up at the top near the armpit like jxax said.

i like cable pressdowns after close grip and dips to realy burn out the tri's

IF your doing cable pressdowns, I think the rope is superior... when you get to the bottom of the movement you can pull your arms to the side and really flex your tris...

I do 1-2 sets of rope cable press downs on tri day to murder whatever is left in them after JM presses
