Arm injury - how long til it heals?

2 months ago I was doing lat pulls and injured by socket/ligament underneath my right armpit. So whenever I tried to lift up that arm, I feel this sharp pain there. I've rested it for over one month and a half and it still kinda hurts but getting a lot better. The ligament/socket underneath my armpit still hurts when I outstretch my right arm and then rotate it.

Any idea what type of injury it is and how long it'll take me to heal fully?

Have you gone to a doctor to have it checked? If not, try to find an orthopedic doctor in your area who specializes in sports medicine.

the doc will be able to diagnose the problem, which may not be naturally correctable. A month and a half is a long time...a doctor's visit is in order.

I agree, and at the very least he will be able to tell you what you can do to rehab your injury.

i'm going in to see my family doctor today who will refer me to a orthopedic doc. anything I should make sure to ask?

I hate being injured. Haven't lifted in a month and a half

Make sure that he refers you to an orthopedic that specializes in sports medicine. They will have a better understanding of the type of training that you do and want to get back to.

my doc referred me to get physical training. he also said it's not my rotator cuff but probably a ligament within the socket. :(

I don't know what physical therapy can do for that but I'll try i guess.

he's sending you to a PT b/c he has no F-ing idea to do. General MD's only know about things that require antibiotics. seek out a more specialized doc

Ok went to my first PT session today and I think she gave me a pretty good diagnosis. She said that it's probably tendonitis of my lats and that it should be healed with therapy within a few weeks. The reason I thought it was a ligament is because your lats go pretty deep at the top. She said if it was a ligament, you would be hurting in every position, not when you just raise your arm. So I feel better now. Just wrote this as reference to others.

That's good to hear. A good physical therapist should be able to help you knock that out with no problem.
