No, but we had the richest man in town come to our house when I was 15 and offer her $5000 to take my virginity....NO LIE! We were outside planting flowers and he pulled up with crates of strawberries. Mom and I went to his car. He had been a lifelong friend of ours. He gave us the strawberries and then he asked to speak to my mom alone. I go back over and start planting flowers again. The next thing I know, my mom is hurling rocks at the car trying to hit him through the window and he is peeling away. My mom is in tears and she told me what happened. What an asshole!

On my fathers side, all of my family have more money than they know what to do with. On my mothers side (they divorced when I was a baby) they just make ends meet.

My Grandmother is worth millions and didn't even know it when my grandfather died. She doesn't live the high life though... They were dirt poor when then married and my Grandfather started a few very successful businesses.

My father passed away in 97, and all of his inheritance from my Grandfather and Grandmother will be passed along to me and my sister as well as partial ownership of the family company.

I've yet to see a dime, and though my Granny could hand me a check right now to clear every debt I have, she is a believer of making your own way. I respect that. I've done ok for myself since I was 16 yrs old.

That sux. Tell her making it on you own is hard and life is short so fork over the money granny you didn't make it anyway.

nah its not quite that much - it has been but its not a set limit or anything.

I dont really get denied when I request money. Its not like I dont work hard either - currently working 2 jobs and engineering is my major.

i dont even know how my mom does financialy... probably pretty middle class...
my dad has a 1mil. house 30min. east of L.A. ...but he is far into debt... so i would only consider him middle class as he owns nothing on paper...
my father in law has a few mil in the bank... house paid off... 5 cars paid... no debts at all... will have a nice inheritance... he promised his 4 kids a minimum of 500k when he croaks... lower upper?? i guess...

I lived on PAsta and butter growing up
I remember having to cut the mold off my bread to make sandwhiches for school.
didnt know my mom well till later in my teen years. step dad was in prison, i lived in a foster home for many many years till my biological dad kicked the drug dealing lifestyle and came and got us. My mom suffered a nervous breakdown when her husband was locked up and she lived somewhere on the other side of the country and the govt wouldnt let her see us.
