I come on here and look for some new musical input and all I see is radio music and Britney Spears shit.

I know there must be someone on this site who goes out to check out local bands and upcoming indie bands.

Or is everyone really into techno??

I like Guns and Roses too.. same with Pink Floyd.. but there are NEW bands..I am not talking about Creed.

Here is my solution. Every week I will post the name of a new band to listen to. This will be for those of you who do not listen to the radio enough.. or who like new music and do not get out alot.. or for those of you who do not know where to look for music. If I get a good response from this thread. Here is what we are looking for.. or looking at.. this is what you can expect from me...
I do not like club music. I do not like Rap. I do not like teenage punk (Blink 182, Limp biscut, Korn)

I DO like bands who play their own music. I do like garage bands, I do like bands who play loud. I do like bands who convey a message. I DO like live music. I DO like reggee.

If you are willing to listen to my shit.. post here and I will post the name and description or article of a new band each week.

I am into electronic nowadays, but I still listen to the stuff I used to listen to back in the day. I DON'T listen to the radio because it is just crap. as for new music, I do listen to new music, but it usually ain't something that the average person would know of. as far as bands giving out a message, I do like shai hulud, integrity, and well old bad religion. if its mainstream, I more than likely do not listen to it.

I actually take the time to try and find new music . I normally venture out to the local tower records and check out what they have, for instance, and I also listen to internet radio which has less filler and lots more quality than regular fm radio. if it sounds good, musically and quality-wise, then I will give it a shot.

Creed fucking rule, there aint many decent rock bands around these days......creed, kid rock, bon jovi ,foo fighters, aerosmith and metallica are the only bands i really like now(that still make shit)

you need to open your eyes and ears instead of just turning on the radio. those bands are crap. new tunes, but no innovation

Welsh... there is a band called Quicksand... you can order it on www.cdnow.com check them out. Get the cd titled SLIP.

This music is harder... they have a 2nd band called Handsome. I am not sure if you can still get this one. But I think you will like both. CdNow will let you listen to clips from the band. Check it out.
