Are you happily single?

Was just curious how many people here are single and enjoying it. How many of you singles don't feel a need to go out and search for a new GF/BF and are enjoying the freedom of being on your own and hooking up with whomever you want?

For a long time I wanted a girlfriend. Then, I became happy being single and doing my own thing. Shortly after is when I found a great girl. Go figure.

I've recently escaped 2 years of misery. For that, I'm extremely happy. I'm still not used to living alone-- but I am glad that I made the right decision. As for being single, I don't need another person in my life to be happy-- but it is nice to have someone to make me smile. I'm currently in something beautiful, special, and somewhat vague with the person I'd consider my closest and most trusted friend. So technically I'm single...but not really. I'm in no rush, nor could I place a title on what it is, but I'm content.

Brad Pitt says, "no one 'really' ever has a girlfriend".

Hmmm..I wonder what he means by that?

 probley means when he was single he could get so many girls...he never wanted a GF...

Im single...5 months now...something I have not experinced in half a decade...I am a great boyfriend, its something I live for romanceing a women, noticeing the little things like the time she takes to get ready or her dreams in life that I try and make happen. So yes I miss the old life and what I had with a certain special person.

But on the other hand, im single...I could have just gone out with any of the women I meet, but I want what I had before and I know what type of girl im looking for. So for now its all about self improvement in the gym, life, school ect., I am not lonely...I do miss love, but right now im loveing myself, family and friends.

I wait for love again.

That is the way it works usually and you are better off for it.

Some words of wisdom for you all, Until you are happy when you are by yourself, you will never be happy with someone else.

You should want a person in your life but not need a person in order to be happy.

Lesson over

Carry on ;)

Nope. But I'd like to be!!! I'm only unhappy because I'm in that in-between phase. That phase where you are still getting over someone before you find someone new. The only thing keeping me from being happy is that I'm not completely over him and I do not want a rebounder/someone convienient to help make me forget about him. When I get over him, then I think I will be happily single. I don't ever want to vulnerable to another person again.

I LOVE being single yea the variety is good, but that's not even really what its about for me. I'm have goals and aspirations to be the man I have set out to be, and I wanna get to that place, financially, physically, and mentally by myself without the influence of any significant other who always whether you like it or not plays a significant role in the way you develop as a person.

Now if I do find a girl who I feel is nothing but a positive influence in my life and supports me for who I am and where I'm going then she will be my girl without me even knowing it or having to label it :)

Just recently, my now-deceased girlfriend rammed a knife through her skull, and when I was performing her autopsy, I noticed she had attached a note to the blade of the knife. Upon reading it, I realized that she killed herself because of me. I was flattered.

That's what she got for falling in love.

I am single. I'm so busy w/nursing school and working that I have little time left for anything else.

im single and couldnt be happier about it...im too young and immature to get involved with anyone in a serious way...i'll wait at least a few years before i get involved in any serious committment...i have other things to worry about right now, getting my degree, building my life to come...dont need / want a relationship right now.

Was happily single for the last 5 weeks. That was until I opened the mail box and pulled out 2 wedding invitations. Ugh, I hate weddings to begin with, now I have to figure out who to take. Ick.

Hmmmm...this is a tough question.

I am happy with my life and the achievements I have made. I am a very strong and stubborn person, and have learned to overcome my worst fears and have also "picked myself up" after the hardest falls, without help from anyone. I am happy with the life I have lived so far, but "while on my journey" I have had many mountains to climb....and so far I have had always found the determination inside of myself to "see the other side."

But there are times that I miss the wisdom, strength, and comfort that a significant other provides. I miss the feeling of making someone smile; the "glazed" over look of lust and happiness that is in the eyes of those that are in love; or the total feeling of calmness, safety, and happiness that overcomes you when laying in each others arms.

Unfortunately, right now, however, I feel that with the hours I work, I would be unable to commit the time and devotion a significant other would deserve. And with that I say, that I guess the saying "everything always has a price", is true.......

No I am not, but I guess Im inbetween like Pixie...its complicated..Im not happy single right now, I def do not want to be, but Im also not gonna go out looking cuz Im not ready for that emotionally yet

Yes being single has its advantages at times....I get to concentrate on my goals without having my head in the clouds....but there are times when you want someone to share your dreams with...I'm in no rush to get into a relationship because I want it to be with someone special....and I won't give in until I truly feel in my heart that he is the person for me...so until then I guess I don't mind being single b/c I see it as waiting for something good to come along, all this time alone is well worth it....

yes and loving every minute of it...i like not having to answer to anyone..
i guess one bad relationship really turned me not to want one for a while...
don't get me wrong i do miss sometimes that someone to cuddle with and to love me. but out of that bad relationship i did get a great son so he loves me more than anyone could.
