however, from what i've read, the atmosphere can vary greatly from location to location, and they are cheap.

Yep. I wouldn't want anything to do with them if they're going to openly mock and shun an entire group of people with no shame.
 
They don't allow bench press at PF.

I stuck my head in one because its cheap as shit and in a convenient part of town so i'd carry the extra membership and it was a damn cattle station. I asked the "trainer" that walked me around that was a worthless sack about the benches and he didn't know. He went and asked the manager and she told him to tell me they don't every buy benches but she wouldn't say why. Lol weird.

I joined one briefly before getting equip at home and they do have benches with a ton of weight
 
Well it might not be all of em nan. I've been reading but that place just blows. They have a Lunk Meter that goes off if you drop a weight too loudly or if you yell over a certain dB level.... and 80 DB's is as high as they'll put out for lifting. By having this guilt free zone they've now discriminated against the people that excel at lifting.

Yeah our local place didnt give a fuck bout drops or grunts, only sounded the alarm, twice, one was for 2 dudes fighting over a machine lolol

I was forced to join a pf, when the powerhouse gym i went to got bought out by them druing their rapid expansion i lasted 3 days before i was banned, i ended up tacking on an extra 20 mins to go to the nearest golds, and after my move i ended up at a workout world, not ideal, but a huge space with tons of equipment
 
They're going for the fitness crowd just like Curves targets a demographic group; Nothing wrong with providing people with what they want.
 
Sure, a target group that's so afraid of standing next to someone who might be in better shape that they are comfortable giving their money to a company that discriminates, mocks and kinda shames an entire group of people all while pretending its not judgment. OK.

Not a thing wrong with that.
 
The video is anti-bodybuilder and not anti-fitness. You're arguing for the wrong side if ridicule is your metric. I've had drunk chicks tell me that if I lost 20 lbs of muscle I would be "super hot."

Thanks bro, I've been spending my weekends at my best friend's beach house on Middle Bass island..we boat over to Put in Bay and I had a 25 year old poli sci grad student say those very words to me. Maybe we need to start a bodybuilding religion and file discrimination lawsuits to fund our lifestyle.

For the record, I responded that if she didn't have such a cottage cheese ass she would be hot. :)

i think they're funny...i know meatheads that act and talk exactly like that...they think the commercials are funny too...if they're not offended why the heck wood i be??
 
I had no idea what you guys were talking about, then on my way to work this morning, I noticed a brand new coming soon Planet fitness sign in Oceanside, where Long's drugs used to be. I think I'll join up.

I don't know where you live, not even the neighborhood but Mitch does. Are you in a relationship when you don't know the address of the person you're in a relationship with? I asked Cindy about her divorce status and she refused to comment, after a year; I'm the liar.

I don't know how to respond to that bizarre, unorganized post. Javaguru, its been long enough... obviously I can't see into your soul through a computer screen. I think everyone here knows that. I don't know you and you don't know me. Its cool.

digi I'm not personally offended...but its still offensive. The videos were funny when they first came out. I laughed. I thought it was cute. But combine the videos with the pictures on the wall making fun of bodybuilders and a lunk alarm? The concept is distasteful and they're running with it. Not all bodybuilders are aggressive meatheads.

I'd like to think that if there were no discrimination laws that businesses that discriminate and refuse service, shun groups of people wouldn't be able to operate very long. Maybe not. You can justify a whole lot by telling people not to be so offended. I know a hobby isn't exactly a skin color, nationality or gender but it is appearance and a stereotype. I just don't like it. JMO. No one has to agree with me. :)
