Are there any reformed gay bashers here?

I'm one of them. I used to bash gays basically because I live in an area full of bible thumping red necks and that's just type of people I was exposed to while growing up. I'm an atheist so the biblical reasons for being against gays doesn't mean anything to me. Over the years I've just decided that I really don't care what two consenting adults do with their peckers. It's none of my business and my old way of thinking just perpetuates hate in a world that already has way too much hate. Is there anyone else that's bold enough to admit that they were wrong?
 
I used to say fag & faggot a lot. Never intentionally using it to degrade gay people. I'd say it with my friends, sort of like an arbitrary insult. When one of my best friends told me he likes men & how much it hurts to hear people (especially friends) casually throw around the word faggot I stopped using it.

No, not a gay lover or anything but singling out gay dudes with a group is weak.

My philosohpy is as long as no other types of people bother me, live and let live.

I was never a gay basher and don't understand them but hey it's their life whatever makes them happy as long as they don't try to pick up on me!

When have I ever said anything about ATM cards on this board (or any other board)? Explain the ATM cards or Vaffanculo.

I dont have a problem with little butt-lovin gay rump-pirate types. They dont bother me. Theres not a whole bunch in tuscaloosa, al.But we do have a gay night club and alot of straight people go there because they have the best dance muisic and they have a funny-ass drag queen show.
 
i've never had a problem with gay people. . .known quite a few over the years. . .one of my cousins (a girl) is gay. . .people are what they are. . .i'll admit, i do have reservations about gay couples having/adopting kids. . .don't get me wrong, if a kid has a good home with loving parents, i'm sure that's all that matters. . .i guess i am a little old-school though, and the concept just seems. . .i don't know. . .odd?? with all the confusion of finding your way through puberty and adolescence, if the kid isn't gay but the parents are, how do they (the gay parents) relate to some of the opposite-sex issues and heterosexual issues that a straight kid goes through?? it's like a priest, whose never been married, trying to understand and give advice on marriage. . .unless you've lived it, how the hell can you give good advice?? i'm not saying it's impossible, it just seems like it would be damn difficult. i guess it's no different than a white couple adopting a black child. . .there's a certain "black experience" in this country that most white people have no clue about. . .yeah. . .they watch the news. . .sure they've seen the civil rights movements. . .but, i think most black people would agree that "seeing" and "studying" an experience doesn't even remotely compare to "living" it. . .
 
Perhaps one of the gay/bi brothers can speak to this. WE ALL KNOW that there are an awfull LOT of *straight* men that will experiment given the opportunity. Works this way with women too, it is just that same sex eperimentation is not nearly as taboo as for women as it is for men.

I am sure that for the openly gay/bi man there must be a certain level of excitement during such a situation.

Given this arguement how do straight men view getting hit on a by a gay/bi guy now? Do you guys feel less "offended"?

i tend to agree with you. . .i've never felt any kind of "urge" when it comes to teh d00ds. . .plus, i've been with the same chica for over 18 years now (and never strayed) and i STILL can't get enough of the slippery little hole. . .i just love it. . .hit it last night and i'm getting that "funny feeling" right now just sitting here thinking about it. :)
