Wednsday is comic book day and cuz of that one of my fav days of the week. I didn't read comics for a good ten years (was obsessed as a kid) but just got back HEAVILY into them last summer. If you love comics lemme see your pull lists

mine

-New Avengers (favorite)
-Amazing/spectacular/Ultimate Spider Man (hate Marvel Knights version)
-Astonishing X-Men
-X-Men
-Incredible Hulk (as long as Peter David stays on)
- Green Lantern Rebirth
-Various mini series

I used to be into Predator and Punisher a lot. Wolverine was good too. I liked on called The Nam cause it was dark and disturbing. I think they put out like 2.

hey austin bor. i was looking through my closet, shoeboxes, etc...for some weed.

i decided to crack open a few boxes of comics that i keep in there, and take a quick look at a few covers. i started collecting back in 6th grade, but only amassed 300-400. i don't think any of them are worth shit.

the only proper collection i have are the first 100 issues of spawn (the latter half of which i've not read).

i stopped collecting a long time ago, but still visit this one comic book shop (the one where i started...memories) 1-2 times a year to look for comics with good artwork. art is all i care about, but unfortunately 99.9999% of all comics have crappy artwork.

my favourite few issues were from a recent series called Aria (Avalaon Studios). they put out a few black and white (pencils only) versions of a few issues. that shit was beautiful.

Yea a lot of the art is horrid nowadays but you can also find some incredible works. I dunno I was really turned off for a long ass time but now Im hooked again, waste 10 bucks a week too lol

i own daredevils 1-30, same with iron man.... i have silver surfer 1, hulk 106 (i think thats the number- it's his first comic on his own since like, number 6), capt america 100, xmen 94, amazing spiderman 12... and i have a TON of comics that are "worth" 50 plus each...

i think there are 12 boxes or so... i dumb lucked into them... i never read them myself.. i think comics are pretty boring.

is the wolverine series still around? I have the first bunch of those that came out in the late 80s

I have 4k old ones...

Fantastic 4
Spiderman
Xmen

etc....

in series form 1967 till about 1985 for most of them

I did the lettering for this comic character

yea i remember Pitt.

what exactly does a letterer do? (forgive the ignorance only familiar with writer/penciler/inker positions)

Spiderman & Avengers were my favorites.

Then, Xmen, Submariner, Batman vs Predator series, Weird War Tales, Sgt Rock, Marvel Team Up, Tales to Astonish, and Conan.

Well, I was friends with Chance Wolf, my best friend at the time's brother who inked and lettered those comics and was working on his own Comic book for Image. Well, all of the BOOM and sound effects are under the letterers job. And the lettering of the balloons, if you remember that PITT had a very disctinct bloody type of lettering style to it and took a long tiime to do. So he was like went from stealing potatoes to eat to making like 30k a month and was busing with some penciling but mainly the inking and so I took over the lettering on some of the issues, but then I went back to college, it was like 7months worth of work, thats all. Met all of the people at Image at the San Diego Comicon, Todd McFarlane etc... pretty cool stuff for a 19year old.

Not sure if it was ever printed on papars but I love watching Justice League (season 2 in particular) - an assembled team of the significant heroes from DC /Marvel etc battled with all the villians.

I liked XO man of war.

Remember Image and Valiant comics?

I was hardcore with it until the age of 18. Now I still buy and few now and then just for reading purposes. I don't give a shit anymore about collecting anymore or what they are supposed to be worth. I like going to the flea markets and buying old giant sized annuals because they cheap and give me a complete story. None of that contiued in next issue crap. XXX comix are cool too.
