easier to get than steroids?

After having read through a few posts this just popped into my head. Maybe it's a carb crash, but still.

This whole pile of crap surrounding steroid, pro-hormones etc, leads me to believe that they're going after the wrong drugs!

Not really.

Coke / Meth / almost all rec drugs have dogs that can detect them, and other enforcement methods. Makes them harder to smuggle, and thus more expensive - plus most rec drugs have no legit medical use so you can't get them for HRT or some BS.

Look at it this way... for rec drugs you are always paying gym prices because your source is someone you go to see. With aas you order from overseas, domestically and you can get them from your local guy. Rec drugs don't do so well in the mail system.

I think that the rec drugs are much easier to get. When I was working at the bar I could get any of that shit I wanted in a matter of minutes(though never did). As for roids I knew a couple of guys but was definetly more difficult to come by.

Cheers,
Scotsman

One of the most difficult challenges I had with raising two of my son's was that they seemed to get rec drugs at the drop of a hat. Now that they're older, I've asked them about obtaining steroids. They seem to be able to get any street drug I'd ever want, but nothing else.

I guess the popularity of Rec drugs makes them 'more available' but the prices are rediculous because they are so risky and difficult to get into the country or manufacture.

You aren't going to find a meso type board for rec drugs where you can find a source on the internet for cocaine. Ain't gonna happen, the DEA will be all over that like flys on shit.

It's all about cliques, who you hang out with. Plus there's a much more general demand for rec drugs and it's a much more lucrative business.

I understand both of those points. I'm not sure about the costing things though, 'cause these kids didn't have real incomes, yet they always seemed to have drugs stashed somewhere. It became a full time job for both of us to keep a leash on them.

I guess I can understand the separation of the two into distinct cliques of folks.

It just seems paradoxical that there is this huge push on pro-hormones etc when they haven't even done a reasonable job at getting rid of the highly destructive rec drugs that teenagers are able to obtain at the drop of a hat.

You can walk into a bar where you know nobody and get ahold of coke within a few minutes. Takes longer to get connected in a gym. Coke and rec drugs are far easier to get ahold of than steroids.

Well that was certainly true for my kids it seemed. I wonder if that is localized or national? Is it possible that because of the site we're on we choose to see that steroids, pro-hormones etc aren't as much of a problem and that the US government agencies already have the drug war in the bag, so now they can divert the resources and cash to the huge societal menace of AAS and related supplements?

there is no comparison between net yield of all AAS together vs coke alone - therefore means of facilitating trafficking of dope far exceed those instituted to impede them like law enforcement, etc...
The demand is so high, and the prices have fallen quite significantly now, that getting rec drugs is just a matter of convenience (pick up a phone vs walk to nearest bar, movies theatre, etc etc) rather than availability :o

So is the idea to give up on what they can't really win and pick up a new banner to go after the next thing they can't win?

No, the idea is to divert attention from a failing enterprise, by starting a new one, which supposedly will procure the desired outcome in the war against drugs which should appease the public, or rather reinforce the moral preconceptions.
Wrong goals, wrong means.

of course rec drugs are easier to obtain because it's a far more lucrative market.

Demand for rec drugs is muc higher than for steroids, so there will always be more supply, more dealers etc.......just a much bigger market all round.

All I need to do is walk to my metro station and there's at least 5-6 pushers selling dope, mostly weed. and most of the time, you have cops accross the street. Here, most people grow their own stuff. When someone as a little "surplus", it's sold on the streets.
