Are all the gains from Creatine water weight?

What gains are you talking about? Creatine is a cell volumizer. Meaning it transports protein, carbs and water to your muscle cells. 70% of our body is made up of water, so taking creatine pretty much makes you look fuller. I'm sure you will keep some of your gains. Dont know your history? How many cycles you ran, what you're on now, if your diet is in check? Creatine transports minerals faster to your muscles. I read Arnold ate 3 to 5 lbs of red meat a day just to get 3-5 grams of creatine. IMO, if your not in some what of shape, creatine will just make you look bloated.... Just my 2 cents. Diet and body fat important when talking creatine.

I see, my diet is much better these days, so I'll try some and see how I get on.

IMHO most of the weight gains from creatine are water weight. Creatine does a lot of good in a physiologically taxing setting though, good that goes far beyond "weight".

Creatine is a tool that allows you to have higher quality workouts, and slightly better recovery. The effects are subtle, but potent... You'll be able to complete more reps than you believe you can. You won't feel stronger, but you will be stronger. Rack that weight up and you will lift it. That last rep, or heavy set, does make a large difference in terms of gains though... So while the weight from creatine may simply be water, it will increase the quality muscle you gain while using it, due to better workouts.

But yes, a large portion of the scale weight you gain while taking it, will go away after you cease taking it...

I say no they are not "if" you push the hell out of yourself to really add all the weight to all your lifts that you possibly can. Yes some of the weight will be water weight but that very same water provides hydraulic pressure in your muscle tissue which in turn increaeses your strength. If you use that increase in strength you are gonna build more muscle. So you will loose some or even a lot of the increased weight but you also should be above your starting point in weight and strength. So ultimatly you won. IMO!

Creatine is an amino acid compound that exists principally in human skeletal muscle. The creatine does assist with cell volumization but generally as far as levels goes we underconsume but at the same time can only store so much. What gains you see initially are due to water but over time strength increases can lead to more permanent mass gains.

I prefer to avoid taking in a liquid for due to bloat and stomach upset. I recently started using the powerchews version.

I prefer them thus far....

acient strength is what i use and i see no water weight at all/drinking lots of water prob helps sense i pee alot

I never put on water with creatine, minor strength increase and endurance, that all. Try ancient strength, probably the best creatine concoction I have tried.
