Anyone watch the special on "Hannibal".....

i think it was on discovery...2 hours about him and his battles against Rome. man did that guy have a set of balls on him and some incredible determination.

By launching an attack on Carthage instead of defending Italy, he suceeded in pulling Hannibal off the European continent. He may well have not been able to do that by fighting him in Italy.

question?....was hannibal barca killed in battle ??..i didnt watch the end of the show. i know his army lost and carthage in turn had to give up its territories in spain.

Hannibal died by suicide, the terms of surrender at Carthage were quite honorable, but in later years Rome wanted to try him. When he was captured finally, he died at his own hand.
 
Amazing to learn how long his career was -- I thought he died much younger.
