That Movie is bullshit -- unless it's trying to send a "message".

You will find 10 TIMES more racism in arkansas or england than in Los Angeles.

We may be divided and go home to live with our own "kind", but we all inter-mingle fine with each other at work, fast food, play, etc.

Move that many blacks and mexicans to any other part of the country (or another country) and you'll see racism.

I've never been to Cali, but I'll vouch for the racism present in Missouri and Arkansas among the younger age group.

Every upcoming generation has fewer and fewer morals and ethics in check. Add in more young people who grew up in foreign lands (mexico, south america) with foreign values -- and you get today's culture.

Look at today's glorified appreciation of gangsta rap. And this is amongst all races (whites, asians, blacks, etc.). Kids today really don't care (apathy).

Blame parents & lousy educational systems.

I don't know why, but it was "cool" to talk about shootin' the n***er with your shotgun. These were white kids in areas of little diversity, self-defined rednecks and proud, the type to own pickups when they hit 16 and fly that flag indicative of the south/racism, I forget which one it is. Though the few I know now have grown up, I really remember how it was "cool" to be racist among their peer groups... something I never encountered in Wisconsin or Illinois growing up.

That was my experience, at least. These kids were much more county-like, so I'm not talking StL or anything...

lets be real, we've been force fed how great cultural diversity is since primary school...in reality, though, it hasn't been such a sucess. My town is 99.9% white christian with no change in site

If you looked hard enough you'll find racism everywhere..

if you think its bad here.. go ANYWHERE else in the world and its ten times worse. Afica is THE most racist continent on the planet.. to this day still ~25 million slaves in Africa.. enslaved because their skin tone is slightly different shade of brown or thier noses are longer.. or they just have a different tribal name.

Go to Japan and see how phillipinos are treated.. go to ANY Pacific island and see how they treat whites.. fuck.. Hawaiians are the most racist fucking people Ive met anywhere in the world... LOL and they are a US state!

that may be true about Arkansas but I think the movie was trying to say that even in the modernity of Hollywood "values" there is still sometype of separation among people along class lines and religion and race. The Movie suggests thats its an articfical contruct that everyone gets swept into. But that Ultimatley we are all good deep down inside, just trying to make it in this world.
