community college is dirt cheap....

What... the kid can't get scholarships and student loans? Worked for me and my sister. Our older brother is the only one who funded his 5 yr college experience completely from my parents' wallet. Ironically enough, he is also the one who is putting them both into the ground slowly and with waaaaay more misery than either of them needed to go out with.

meh...

C'est la vie!

Not for schools here, no way a kid gets a loan for 35-40k a year (BU, Harvard, BC)

Remember, we went to college when it was a couple thousand, if that :)

yo HT hit me up via karmatic notegiving or PM

True, true the cost of a higher education has gone higher. But then again, why not have the kid study abroad? I wonder what the cost would be then?

Not to mention, the kid could get a job and start saving for their own education whenever they are old enough to work. I can tell you dollars to dounts, if the kid is paying for it themselves (like me and my sister did) they will take their time in university far more seriously. And there is nothing wrong with having that kid work while they are at school too.

Call me old school, call me crazy... shit worked for me 20 years ago and if my kids want to go to school, will work for them the same. I see no reason whatsoever why any parent should feel obligated to fund their kids' education 100%.

Again, I agree - however it is simply impossible for a kid to finance a 160k education. Typically you will have to be a resident abroad or go thru a US university.

I have 5+3+6 years of college, I think it cost me around 50k in total. That will never happen again.

Oh I feel you... 100%

There is a saying in my language. "There is nothing that is impossible (undoable) but only that which one refuses to do."

There are always ways to reach a goal if one wants it badly enough. I will strongly recommend that my children study abroad as I feel, such an experience is superior for LIFE as opposed to simply staying here in the states...

But then again - just my humble .02

Happy and Prosperous New Year to all! :chomp: 2008 will be an AWESOME YEAR!!!

we were discussing this at the gym a while back, on how a kid here will need almost 60k to get an engineering degree & over in India, it'll cost him about 1200 rupee. and come to America and steal primo job from blue eye devil. ah well, there's always barber college....

4 years of undergrad and 3 years of law school will total $240,000 for me.

go get your drink on. In about 28 weeks you will be up to your eyeballs in diapers and such. Then, there will be no all-nighters except feeding your HONGRy baby...lol.

sober just woke up from a nap. Might do a little drinking tonight, but won't get drunk as I have no sitter for the kids.

Will you watch my kids? Oh wait nevermind I would not trust you. ;)

might go out about 9ish. some places are selling tickets for around $60 where you get a prime rib dinner, drinks, champagne, and a limo ride home. They're just wanting you to get wasted. I als have 2 fifs of vodka in the freezer ready to prime me up if I do venture outside my home tonight.

I have a huge rave at 10 (til 11am) but no alcohol at all. They sell booze til 3am but I'd rather do something else instead lol

I'm entertaining the idea of doing the same.

Beck's Light. Only 64 calories. And with the pregger Mrs-ish, it's not like I want to get loaded and sit around with a sober person.

I have some Bud Lights in the garage, but me & some of the bro's are going to the local strip club, so I'm debating on priming myself. The last time I did that I wound up sleeping in the bushes next to my house because I couldn't find the front door.

It's my guess that my evening will not end around sober people :worried:.

Already got drunk, passed out, woke up with a hang over and am cleaning the place up right now. I feel like I've started the new year off ahead of everyone!
