Anyone Play Diablo 2???

Well Im just starting out, so any tips would be good. do yo usually hire a mercenary, how do you keep them alive, how often do you go back to base, what do you keep in your stash, what do you find is the best type of weapon in the beginning (I have a 2 handed sowrd that does 8-17 damage, I'm level 12). What is the best spell to use (Im a paladin).

It seems like Im always using the Prayer spell to heal myself, is that the best one to use mostly? It also heals mercenaries that is a major plus.

Can you feed a mercenary a potion?

Oh thanks :)

do you have the expansion pack? there you can heal and equip your mercenary. you cant do that on the original, unless there is an update for it.

paladin is actually one of the characters ive played the least. but he has some kinda speed spells..that speeds you up fpr each hit. and then he has some kinda spell that makes you hit several attackers at once.

in the beginning i go back with everything i find, just to get money.

there are no "best" weapons..as long as you use one that does heaps of damage you are good.

I mean do you usually find it better to use a one handed weapon with a shield, or a two handed weapon that does more damage.

I had an illegal copy on my HD but lost it when my system crashed. :(

Sorry I don't have any tips for you, bro. Just wanted to mention it's a Very cool game.

i find it better to be a barbarian and wield 2 weapons at once :)

but having a shield is definately a pluss..especially in the beginning when your AC is low anyway

1 Playerkilling

Do not attack or kill players except in areas where it is
specifically allowed, even if they make you angry.

wussmud.org. =)

Paladins used hammer/concentration or thorns/conversion when i last played the game.
If you want to side with Necros you should get thorns.

shadupp nerd. thats wha makes the mud so cool..no pk'ing all around. and in the pk'ing areas you get weapons that rule like hell.

check out carrionfields.com, i played there a while back, it's
PK but the engine is so awesome. If you get into it maybe i'll start playing again.

No, that's what makes MUDs so BORING. Who wants to run around and kill brainless monsters all day? I'd rather run around and kill dumb vikings in pink tu-tus and Otomix shoes... at least they have brains...... well sorta. =)

Prayer is lousy. Save your points. Don't use them early.

My paladin swung for 8,700 points damage. He maxed out the stacks for Fanatacism and Vengeance. I played X-pac in hell solo.

Prayer seems so good though, you never have to worry about drinking potion. What else do you use besides prayer, I have holy fire, might, resist fire, zeal, and a few others.

zeal stacked with fanatacism is kick ass. I would swithc between fanatacism stacked with vengeance and fanatacism stacked with zeal. Both make you a kick ass fighter.

I really almost never used anything else. There isn't a reason to use too much else.

If you want a fast crash course in Diablo... go to one of the computer gaming center and get the 11 year olds who live there to teach you the game. Those kids are experts.

I've got to advise you too, though, I pulled the plug on Diablo and other computer games. They can be an enormously fun diversion... but after a while you realize you are wasting time.

I dont think I can get Fanaticism or Vengeance yet.

I just got to Lut Gholein (act II) and I bought a kickass armor suit.

Thanks.

Sofageorge I do not believe that you hit for 8,700 damage using a palading even with fantaism unless you had another paladin in your team with max concen, using a battle shrine, or have more +1 to aura skill charms than I can imagine. I currently have hrmm bout 10 level +80 chars on b.net *sounds pathetic but really only takes 1 day* and I can tell you ANYTHING you need to know. If you are playing a paladin you need to figure out which build you are gonna choose, honestly prayer is SHIT doesn't do anything use healing poitions or save rejuvs MUCH better. If you are going pvp I personally like my vidicator fantaism/smite/holy shield all maxxed. I am up near 80 with him so I am putting excess poitns into conviction and fist of heavens. Your equpiemtn will differ depending on which build you choose. If you are going for a speed killing class paladins do NOT fit the bill. In cow runs you will be a "drinkadin" constantly quaffing potions as everyone else massacres the herd. If you want a char that can SOLO the entire game get a Bowzon, a Sword/Shield barb or a nova sorc. The other classes, assassin, druid, necromancer *still most fun to play* and paladin just lack killing speed to do it in a reasonable enough time to keep me from bashing my head on the ground in anger. If you want to know alot more go to www.diabloii.net check out the message boards they will have a answer to any of your questions you could ever think of asking. If any of you play on UsWEST let me know my duel barb can always use some more challenges.

I have played diablo2 all the way through on all levels but used a amazon with a bow or a sorceress so I don't know crap about the paladin. Only general tip I can give you is don't let yourself get killed because you lose experience. If you are about to die just hit escape and then save and exit game. When you return you will be back in town but you will have all your goodies and lost no experience.

I haven't played much since they fucked up frozen orb (kinda made my level 75 sorceress useless). I usually only played on battle.net so one thing I used to do to get experience up really quickly was join an 8 player game but don't join a party. Just go and hack it up on your own, you get way more exp. that way.

Also don't feel the need to use up your skill points as soon as you get them ... most of the early level skills suck for all the characters (except some of the barb ones and warmth for the sorc.).
