Anyone own a Mac?

I swore never to buy another PC again about two years ago, and now the time has come. The Mac I want is about 3 G's...I could go pick it up today. Is it worth it?

love my MAC...bought the powerbook G4 about 2 years ago.
its very user friendly
itunes
limewire
firefox
mailbox system
iphoto

the list goes on and on of their great programs

i recommend you getting one

What about the service plan...it's another $349. I'm usually throwing out a PC long before the service plan is up, due to outdated software.

I am done with windoze..they're usually just getting the bugs out of the last OS while they are launching a new one, which is a whole new world of suck. The cycle never ends.

I hate Mac's. They contract out with state universities, so they're always prominent in colleges. I just wish they'd bloody unify everything instead of all these damn companies fighting over every last penny.

But Macs don't crash.

I've seen this one too many times:

lol

I really don't have a preference... I just wish they'd make one system that worked all the time.

If you're used to using Mac's, you'd probably enjoy it. The only reason I hate them is because no one I've ever known has used them, yet universities have them exclusively... so we'd turn on a computer at school and be, like, WTF are these stupid icons on the screen supposed to mean?!

I agree with you Samote...I'm all for one system that works too, but I doubt if it will happen in this lifetime. No crashes with the Mac, so I will settle for the lesser of two evils.

I'm off. When I return, I will be broadcasting my signal from a whole new world that has a little less suck.

Goodbye cruel blue screen...

mac is for liberal hippies that like drinking coffee and surfing the internet at internet cafe's... basically I'm saying, ask Jackangel

Ok, so I got the Mac...fucking thing looks like it's from outer space. The sound quality on this laptop is better than the speakers on my desktop!! Other than that, it's a lot different from windoze, for example.. everything is completely different.

Other than that, it's SWEET!! I'm looking forward to zero crashes.

I've yet to see any type of blue screen in XP....just sayin' It's probably a virus/trojan you caught watching internet porn while you wait for pregorae to get her fat ass back in shape after the little one.

I have a mac and I like it but my university has made it a pain in the ass. I take my exams on my laptop and I need special software which is only possible with windows. So I got bootcamp and all is well and I only open the windows when I have to take tests. So I guess it isnt that bad and I love everything else about my mac.

I have seen the blue screen about three times so far with XP. Once on my personal laptop from plugging in a memory stick, and twice on my work laptop. I can't even get to pr0n sites on my work laptop.

It will crash if a two year old launches it off your desk.

I have a powerbook G4, had it now for about 4 years. I have had NO issues with it. not a single one, until my son slid it off my desk and onto my (then) hardwood floor. My hard drive ceased.. then it came back to life then it crashed forever. It cost $129.00 to put a new one in and reinstall my programs.. now its as good as new.

I had to use a MAC in college for a digital imaging class. I wasnt a big fan of it and they do crash. My froze a good bit. I have a toshiba laptop its four years old. This thing still flys and rarely freezes. If you wanted something bad ass check these out:

That stuff is pretty sweet. I may look into some of that for home sound, but for a portable, I wasn't donating one more penny to the Bill Gates fund.
