So how many friendships have you kept from your younger years?? I started out keeping a couple...now I'm down to none...isn't a close friendship supposed to be lasting? I mean, yeah, people change and start becoming interested in other things...but is that grounds for neglecting a friendship?

yes i do, im still friends and still big bro to my female friends from highschool, i don't see them much but whenever they are home from school they always make a note of dragging me out to a club or party :) but my oldest friends from school i no longer speak to those fucking burn outs

Friends come and go, but the memories are there, thats what counts.
Most of my "friends" are from high school.

only the close ones I have kept, and one of them just recently decided he didn't want to be bros anymore, over a chick. what ever happened to bros before hos?

oh well, the friends I do have from high school I still try to keep in touch with, but more often than not we are just too busy with are own lives.

My best friend from 11 years of age is still my best friend today. Too bad his girlfriend is the bitch from hell. That and all his kids make it tough.

I met my best friend in kindergarten... I'm 31.. Either we have been friends a loooong time or I'm getting old:o

We live far apart. But whenever we talk, it's like we are always seeing each other. We also have ESP with each other:D

Same here. They degenerated into nothingness. They burnedout and went nowhere. The thing that pissed me off the most is that these were very intelligent people with a lot of financial backing from their family. They decided to throw it away. My 3 best friends all failed out of college and now they work odd jobs trying to get by. I stopped hanging out with them bc you become like the people you associate yourself with. I will never be a wasted burnout.

To be blunt, I didn't have friends in high school. Not up until senior year anyway.

I met my current roommate in grade 8. We been freinds for quite a few years now, and will contine to be. Most the the others have fallen by the wayside (marrige kills friendships, and anyone who says otherwise is a liar).

So yeah, I guess I still hang with one or two peeps from HS. Oh, and I'm friendly these days with a few people I graduated with, although I didn't know them at the time.

damn right bro, my one friend was a physics major...smart as hell but gave it all up for chiba and acid...so sad so sad...

Well, I'm only in my third year of college, but all of my GOOD friends are friends I've had since high school (and several from earlier!)...

I could see the main "inner circle" of us hangin' out in 5, 10, 25 years...

There are 6-7 people, guys and girls, that I consider FRIENDS--everyone else I know is just...someone I know.

Sometimes you just grow apart, like in any relationship.

There is only one friend from school that I miss and she messed her life up on drugs.:( Nobody has heard from her in years, not even her family.

I still have friends from elementary school and high school that I talk to on the phone, email, and one here in town that I see for dinner.

Recently I tracked down my 3rd grade girlfriend on www.classmates.com. When we were in the 3rd grade I used to send her goony monster Valentines. I started my letter to her with...

"You aren't going to remember me but in the 3rd grade I had a crush on you and used to send you goony monster Valentines..."

She wrote back to me at Christmas...

"Not only do I remember you... I still have the Valentines."

She scanned them and sent them to me. (If anyone wants to see them pop me your email address.)

My 20 yr reunion has come and gone and I am still chums with my best friend from HS and a few other good ones. Also still tight with my best friend from college.

My oldest friends go back to 2nd grade.. By 8th grade our group was all patched together.. Many of us still live within an hour or two of each other, so we are able to see each other often.. Pink, you say you havent talked to your best friend in months.. My best friend and I got into a fight and it lasted over 2 years.. Both of us had to much pride to apoligize, or even initiate conversation.. Then one night it was unavoidable that we be around each other as everyone had come home for the holidays.. We talked that night and I wound up being the best man in his wedding.. A solid friendship will weather anything.. Fights like that are unavoidable because of the emotion involved IMO.. You will come back around to each other..

I have 3 friends from kindergarten, 2 from middle school and about 4-5 from highschool. We all still go out almost every weekend together or at least talk all the time. I'm 28 now so I've known some of them literally as long as I can remember.

i have three friends that ive known since i was about 5 or 6(more than 25yrs.). we still go out occasionally now. there like step-brothers. we've been thru alot.

3 left, non of which are my best friend, havn't spoken to him since his HS graduation party

maybe you're a bad person. have you ever thought of that? that maybe you are driving people away?

thats a joke, btw

no i have no friends from High School. I hope beyond hope that i remain close to my family until i die though. my dad & mom aren't really close to their families. i don't want to end up that way, to ritualize the relationship with people who took care of me when i was helpless & confused by going to thankgiving dinner once a year. what the fuck is that?

people change though. watch the end of 'stand by me' when the guy says about his friends 'we grew farther and farther apart, until one day they were just other faces in the hall'. its entirely true. my best friend in 4th grade was just a face in the hall by 7th. my close friends from high school & i never meet.

my two best are from 7th grade.

we have not missed a beat,

each of us has something to offer the other in terms of personal growth.

always constuctive, and always real.

if I need to be put in place these guys do it, and vice versa.......and when your parents like your freinds as if they are their own....you know you got something wonderful.

damn I am lucky.......I always realize stuff like this when I right it out..and see it

God life is a interesting event.......

My best friend from pre-k and I still talk, and see one another.

Grade school I didn't have too many friends, and the girl friends I had I no longer see, or hear from.

Still in HS, but my close friend since my sophmore year is pretty much writing me off b/c all he wants to do is get stoned anymore. And since I don't do that shit he'd prefer to be around those who deal

A group of us on our roller hockey team plan on keeping the team together as we get older since it's one game a week, and isn't demanding on our schedule. I'll be off the team for the next 4 years though b/c I'm enlisting. It'd be cool to keep a team together as we got older.

re:friends from high school

my roommate Mike and I have played football together since 7th grade.--now we are both 26! (but he cant even lift anymore b/c his fiance takes all his time (bitch))

I have another close friend with whom I have played ball with since 9th grade. In high school we trained like crazy. Us and two other lineman did 2000 jump rope a day one spring, summer.---matter of fact, since i am moving to the morning shift @ work, I will be playing softball with him this spring---can't wait!:D

I met one of my best friends at age 12 on a field trip, and we both made paper airplanes on the train. We've been friends ever since, and I see him weekly. Just had his first child, as a matter of fact.

I have other friends from that time in my life, but no others that I knew in high school. I didn't get along with many of 'em, to be honest. Kind of the outcast.

My 10 year is coming up this summer, and I'm looking forward to it, just to see how a lot of them ended up.

I dunno, I like making new friends wherever I go. I have some new friends from places I worked but I stick to the guys from HS. Their my bros and I look out for em as my own blood.

My best friend from freshman year of HS is still my best friend (other than my brother) today - and we'll both turn 40 in the next two months. (My gawd, I'm old...) Talk to him every two weeks or so, and try to meet up with him either back home in CA or in Vegas every year or two.

:) I still have a few friends from high school. One of my best friends I've known since we were in first grade! I think that's cool!

I don't see'em much but I still hang with old friends from highschool. As a matter of fact I've been hangen for the past month. (since I'm on leave and all)

Pink...

I am still best friends with my closest girl friend in high school. We don't see each other like we would like to, but hey....we go to school far away from one another. I hung out with about 6 girls altogether, though...but only talk to one now. It's been almost 4 years...

the 2 best friends that I have, I have known them since the age of 5 and am now 23, and I still consider them to be my best friends. Most of my high school friends have come and gone and I haven't seen most of them in years.

none...

I went 3000 miles away to college, and my parents moved away from my home town when I left for school...

I will occasionally see a classmate walking around NYC...but hardly ever...
