I live in Northern VA (DC Suburbia)

I am moving to the Northern part...just outside of D.C. as well. About 70 miles away. Was there a month ago and it was beautiful. How is the weather? Probably alot hotter than I am used to! Apparently it has rained almost everyday since then. Alot of rednecks in that area it seems. Everywhere we went we were told we had accents! You all talk funny! Not me! LoL!

Most people in Northern VA and Maryland still speak normally (not with that stupid southern twang). It may be south of the Mason / Dixie Line but the rednecks are further south down Interstate 95.

I agree but there is a slight difference between "white trash" and "rednecks". White trash have mullets and camaros but rednecks also have mullets but there camaros are on blocks in the front lawn.

It's a very cosmopolitan area. The Fed Govt, Pentagon and Defense/Hi Tech industries bring folks here from all over the world. I can't think of a single demographic I have not run into here. The weather is nice, you get all four seasons. Right now the Cherry Blossoms are in bloom, and there is a little rain. I think you'll like it here, but it's not for the light-hearted, especially when it comes to traffic.

I lived in Rockville for a while when I was working for a computer security company, right off the pike.. and I traveled back and forth to reston where we had a sattelite office!


back to the thread, I was born in Virginia and lived in a small-ass town by lynchburg for a bit.
