Anyone Here Ever Pay To Train W/ A Retired Pro Bb, Ie: Frank Zane, Lou Ferrigno?

Why is that?

Millions of people would disagree with you.

Frank Zane's competition weight was 180 lbs. To me, he is more of a fitness model than a professional bodybuilder. That's just my opinion though. I know millions will disagree.

I would pay 77 bucks an hour to train with people who I respect greatly and admire.

really-- for $700 bucks-- Id fly B-fold out here to train w/me before Id train w/Frank Zane... someone I really respect that competes now-- not 30 yrs ago.

I think if you can afford it go for it. If your serious about body building go for it. The information is alot diffretn when it's coming out of the horrses mouth...and $77.00 is not bad at all..

Exactly. Paying $700 for training advice that probably isn't on par with what you hear here doesn't sound like gravy to me.

But: if you've already competed, and you want to fine-tune your posing routine or contest preparation diet, etc, then it makes sense. All of the behind-the-bb-scenes stuff.

My opinion is many personal trainers don't really know what they're doing, and elite bodybuilders' approaches many times are not ideal for joe average natural bodybuilder.

That said, it's mostly a matter of how much of a fan/admirer of him you are personally. Zane accomplished a lot in his day, had a body that epitomizes aesthetic development in a lot of people's minds, comes across as being very intelligent in his writings, and from what I hear is quite hospitable in person, so I can understand why he would have many great admirers. If that's the case for you, then it's worth it.

Hell I've blown $700 on cocaine and women in a night before. I might do it just because. I'm not exactly hardcore on diet and rest etc. I'm old and have a job too, btw.

I would say you could very well learn a lot from him. Those guys were the real pioneers of bodybuilding. He has seen it all.

I don't know why so many people would 'down' training with a former Mr. Olympia. So many people pay these arm chair online gurus hundreds for advice you could also find for free on the net, so why not go for the real deal? Like someone already said, at least it would be a great memory, and a good story to tell.

ps. If you ever get a chance, get in touch with Big Louie. He is a great guy, and is always willing to help people with their training.
