anyone have successful shoulder surgery?

I've been dealing with a right shoulder rotator cuff problem successfully for over 2 years ( front raises and incline db press seem to bother me most) so I work with alternative exercises for chest. I let my guard down the other day and as I sat down on the end of the flat bench ... grabbed two db's and swung them up into position as I layed back onto the bench... the force of the momentum combined with weight of the db came CRASHING down onto an unhealthy right side rotator cuff and I got to tell you about REAL pain!!! Accompanied by a cracking sound. This incident occurred about 7 days ago...the first two days I could not lift my arm... each day after, up untill today, my shoulder has been improving greately. I can actually front raise my arm with only minor pain. Yesterday I had an MRI done and am waiting for results. Providing I have less than major damage what are the chances of a good recovery? I understand when scoped as opposed to being layed open the recovery time and success has improved over the years. Of course I will find the best surgeon possible. Are shoulders more complicated than knees? I have heard that shoulder work has a lower success rate than knees. Can anyone who has had experience in this area please comment?
Thanks alot

Hi, hope you had a successful surgery. Guess you are doing well. Can you share your experience? My cousin has a similar problem and is confused whether to go ahead.
