anyone go to 'slam poetry'?

my roommate is telling me i need to go to some slam poetry next weekend (she went tonight). any of you people go?

slam poetry is where faggots get on stage with bongoes and recite poetry such as:

'*bongo drums* vagina *bongo drums* cunt *bongo drums* free mumia *bong drums* my love is like a rose thorn *bong drums*'

and all the people clap and all the girls get wet over such shitty 'poetry' and guys who dont eat meat and are buddhist.

something like that.

I don't know how things are in your parts of the country, but around here, "Poetry Night" or "Poetry Slam" are code words for "Hate Whitey Night." It is a strictly "Urban" phenomenon.

oh, i live in an area filled with ultra-left, young idealists, who drive around in the bmw daddy's money bought, buy jeans for $170 a pair, and say, 'gee, i wish people would do more to help the poor...it's bush's fault, i know it!'

i doubt there will be much 'hate whitey', since the population of my area is probably 90+% white.
