Anyone Go Through A.R.T therapy?

My subscapularis and my serratus anterior are practically fused together after I tore both rotator cuffs 4 years ago and after a bad neck and back injury my lifts are at an alltime low. I could lift more when I first started lifting. Just had my first treatment today. Was wondering what your personal experience was like and what I might expect as far as results long and short-term. Appreciate any input.

I know that there are some members here that have had the treatment and have loved the results. I want to try it for myself one day. If you want some quicker answers I would suggest using the search as there are like 3 or 4 rather large threads dealing with shoulder problems and A.R.T. Therapy. There are a lot of good reviews in those threads. Good luck.

hey bro, i went through it about three years ago for my biceps tendon and superspinatus. I had a really bad injury playing college football and when i went to the hospital they said it was a bone bruise lol. ive never met a bruise that didnt allow movement for 2 weeks. so i went to a chiropracter and he said i separated it. Then i went through physical therapy and they couldnt help. so finally i went to a doc in florida, John Prokopiak in orlando. He pretty much did a whole body treatment and i must say i am impressed. I went once a week for six weeks and i returned to the gym as strong as i was before the injury. i have not had a problem since then and have gotten stronger. Now i will say the pain is mind boggling in the first few sessions...labor would be the comparison:D hope this helps.

Im going to look into if for my shoulder....

Yes, I did it for an elbow injury and a hamstring injury. I drove into Colorado Springs to have Dr. Leahy (the inventor of the technique) perform it. It is essentially a hybrid of deep massage and chiropractic. I only had a week in Colorado and I had 3 sessions essentially back to back (which is not what he prefers). It did help quite a bit. I'm not wholly convinced that a good chiropractic session followed by a good deep massage session wouldn't give you the same benefits, but I will say that it helped. And is definitely worth a try if you are in pain. For me, I didn't want to screw around with the people in my neck of the woods, so I just went straight to Leahy. There's an old T-mag article about it (that has a number you can call to get your closest practicioner), let me dig it up.

ART Interview

I just went to the ART website called them up and there was 4 people in my area. They rate their experience and what part of the body they usually do. I lucked out that an ART instructor was in my neck of the woods, so of course I chose him. So far both shoulders feel alot more relaxed and the pain has also decreased after yesterday, which is pretty cool since last night and tonight I will be working bodyparts that have been very neglected the past few years. I am pretty psyched up.

My workout partner has had a pretty screwed up shoulder/rotator cuff problem for a while. He could only go down to about 90 degrees when doing bench, incline, etc. He went to an ART doc 4x and can now get 100% motion when pressing and says it feels a ton better.
