anyone ever "witch" for tile - ranger? other hicks?

i was just bored and seeing if there was any true country boys on here. you never heard of "witching" for drainage tile.. with witching rods.. aka metal coat hangers.. (fuck.. i'm pretty sure it's called "witching").. where you take the hangers, bent in a 90 degree angle, holding onto the vertical side that's parallel to your body and keeping the horizontal side that's parallel to the ground parallel to each other and pointed straight forward, you walk across the field holding them with a loose grip, and when you cross over the drainage tile, the horizontal end of the hangers/rods will rotate toward the middle, and aligning with each other when you're directly over the tile..

it's pretty crazy.. but it works.. i've done it a hundred times.. (95 of which i just did for fun when i was a kid cuz i was so amused by it.. the others were to find the tile cuz the field started holding water due to one of the tiles being fucked up and it not draining properly..


never heard of the apple... how's that work?

works for me.. so it's not bullshit.. though i have seen people that simply couldn't get it to work..

and you're right .. them there astroeknots never did land on that there moon.. huh uh.

I have located underground utilities with 2 pieces of #4 copper wire, bent into a " L " fashion, walk slowly, hold loosely in hands, and at the point they drift apart from each other, something is underground....

It has worked for me a number of times, a few times it didn't and I cut a water line, cable, or phone.....

My grandparents and my dad can all witch for water. I think they witched for every well in their pastures. Yeah, it works. I remember when I was little going out with my dad and him showing us how to do it.
