Anyone else doing CKD?

You are absolutely right. The only reason I am doing this is because I'm going on vacation in 5 weeks and I have 5 pounds of fat to lose before I will wear a bikini. I know that is a stupid reason. My weight loss completely stalled and I was desperate. The good news is that my weight training is getting better. :D

To a point yes! But if you ask me to drink a case of beer and then put a bikini on and pose in provocative poses then it is over as far as I'm concerned!

btw... I'm doing a CKD also. It hasn't affected me too much, but it kicked my wife's butt when she tried it.

How much weight did she lose? I am down 2 pounds as of this morning. My carb up is tomorrow. I just checked and I am in ketosis. I just expected that I would have lost more in the beginning. :(
 
Okay then. So it's probably normal weight loss for me then? I did my cardio, everyday except for Sunday and I might miss today cause I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TIRED!!!!!
 
She didn't lose anything - but her Thyroid levels were screwed up, so that might have been a factor. She just got some thyroid medicine and it's made her disposition much better. Hopefully it will help with the dieting process when she goes back to it.

I'm losing about 1-2 lb per week on it. It works for me. She did a whole lot more cardio than I do (I do none :)) I suspect that's why it was much harder for her.
 
Yeah...I think 1-2 /week should be normal..at least it is for me. But, I would expect to see you loose more water weight during the first week as you drop the carbs. Have you been drink 1-2 gals of water per day?
 
I'm on a ketogenic diet.

My energy is weird. My physical energy is lacking a good bit, especially in terms of endurance. My Power Clean & Push Press complexes have dropped to complete shit (only about 225 for one), but I am still progressing with my Box Squats (hit 560 for 3 reps last night, and almost lost it on the third).

However, my mind is functioning differently. I'm taking in information in a more abstract way. It has become harder for me to immediately realize the impact of humor, but I can analyze problems better, or so it seems. I definitely lag in some ways, though, and I have noticed I've been a bit forgetful.

It has been a week, now, and I am down from 8.5 or 8% to 7%.

I'm shooting for a sick-looking transformation. Minimum goal is 5%. I may hit lower, though, as things go on.

I am on Bromocriptine and a tiny bit of an ECA stack, too. Not really supposed to take them together, according to Lyle McDonald, but the amount of each is smaller than usual, and -frankly- it's all an experiment, and I don't really care.

I will likely use some T3 in the middle of July to go even further.

I get about 30 grams of carbs a day. Never as much as 50. On Mondays, I eat as much of whatever SHIT I want. For example, yesterday, I ate 2730 Calories in honeybuns alone. I think the day's total ended at around 9000 Cals. lol

I'm leaner-looking today, too.

I am doing HST for my workouts, except for my Power Clean & Push Press work. I am, as usual, doing no cardio.

That's what I was expecting too. But I guess I also have to factor in my bodyfat as weight is not the only factor. As long as the scale moves right? I'll keep you all posted. Oh and I'm trying to drink as much water as possible, but i can always drink some more.
 
I was briefly on a ckd diet. I lasted a week. Sapped my energy to the point that I couldn't do that 60 min. of cardio 3x /wk that Warlobo recommended for fat loss. I've gone back to Spatts cutting diet and am doing just as well. Ya know seeing those keto sticks go deep purple was so gratifying until someone at the gym told me I was prob. burning muscle!! yikes!
 
You are on the right track flexygirl in another 2 to 3 weeks your body will actually do a "flip" and you'll have more energy from the weekly protien / fats run than the carb up.
 
I'm in the middle of my third week. No loss of energy at all. I felt like crap the first two days, but after that, i've been feeling far better than I have in a long time.

Started at 201 and got as low as 186.5 over this past weekend. Did my first carb up this past Sunday and went up to 192 by Monday. Yikes!!!! 5.5 pounds.

Back down to 190 this morning. I'm following Mr X's CKD calculator this week, which is giving me more calories, so i'm not expecting to get back down to 186.5, this week again.

Keep us updated. I would try it again if it wouldn't hurt my work outs, because it sure kills the hunger!
