Anyone do DLs 2x a week?

Once for back and once for legs (SLDL)?

I was thinking about it, but I really don't have much experience with SLDL's and I pretty much can't even tie my shoes for 2 days after doing DL's on back day.

I do, and I am loving it! A lot of people here say only do them 1x a week, but to each its own. I have noticed tremendous leg development since I started doing deads 2x a week.

The ammount of pain/sorness, if I take what you are saying literally is a bit troubling. I do get a pump feeling after doing deads, but not to the ammount you are. If you are new to deadlifts, keep them light and get your form perfect before adding more weights. I see a lot of people in my gym who do a ton of weight, but their form is crap! Dead's aren't something to be doing wrong btw.

My dead workout looks like this:

Leg day: wednesday
squats 4 sets: 10, 8, 6, 10
SLDL 4 sets: 12
Leg press 3 sets: 12, 10, 8
Standing leg curl: 4 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6

Saturday: Day just dedicated for deads
4 sets: 12-10, 10, 8, 6.
Light squats 4 sets 12
Dumbell lunges 3 sets 6

Except for SLDL, I do primad

I used to do SLDL and normal deadlifts every week but I eventually got burned out. It was good for a few weeks until my deadlift numbers started going down. At the point I figured i needed more rest so I cut back and did a deadlift exercise only once every week or two and my numbers started going back up.

I do DLS twice a week

But for the legs I don't like SLDLs (put too much strain on lower back)

I don't literally mean that I can't tie my shoes! Although I did just start DLs after an 8 month layoff, so they are killing my back (in a good way). I hear you on the form, I am also of the mindset that less weight and proper form is the only way to go.

Thanks for the input.

I've stopped doing conventional deadlifts, but am currently doing sldl three times a week. It works well for me.

i would burn out faster than vanilla ice if i was doing dls twice a week. even once a week got to be too much after a while. i hit them every other week and alternate between heavy (5 reps max) and reps (10,8,6) each time.

right now i do SLDL every week on leg day for the hammies, but i might start alternating that with RDL. on back day, my main move is either DL, GM, or rack pull, so i don't DL more than once every 3 weeks. occasionally i'll go for max loads instead of repping (but i don't go above 6 reps in any case).
