Anyone concerned over captopril?

This stuff sounds like it might be just what my GF is looking for...

she has an excellent body, but not as chiseled as she would like in the typical female pattern areas...

Yohimburn has helped, no doubt...but she's not quite there yet.

From what I've read from Dr. J's posts, Captopril might just be the answer...however, as someone who won't even let my GF take clen, I am hesitant to give her something that is normally used to lower blood pressure.

What do people think about this? I know that a lot of juice heads could probably benefit from lower blood pressure, but what about my GF who is definitely not hypertensive in the least bit? Could she seriously fucker herself up with this medication?

Does anyone know (or can estimate) the minimum dose of Captopril required for A2 elimination? And if so, is this too much for a non-hypertensive person?

C'mon Macro, Huck, and Doctor J...I think this is an important question... this stuff seems to be gaining recognition lately and I think people should educate themselves about the full possible effects of a ACE inhibitors and that they aren't just around to get rid of ass dimpes and love handles.

Is this a safe new thing or what?

I'm prepared to bump this till the end of time (or until I go to sleep)...c'mon...anyone?

Jibby, I take 100mg captopril at night myself. I have everyone take it including females. The average dose is 100mg daily. But you need the Yohimburn until the Captopril kicks in (about three months)

Hi Doc! ME and my GF are seriously considering this... has anyone had any adverse reactions to this dosage?

How come nobody ever asks to see scientific references before believing this stuff? If a drug eliminated alpha 2 receptors in the body it would be a disaster. As just one example, epinephrine binds to alpha 2 receptors in the pancreas to reduce insulin secretion in a fight or flight situation where the brain needs all the glucose it can get.

In the entire Medline database as far as I can tell there is one study showing captopril downregulates alpha 2 receptors in platelets (1) . Are people seriously extrapolating from this that it shuts them down throughout the body?

(1) J Cardiovasc Pharmacol 1994 Sep;24(3):429-33

Changes in plasma norepinephrine concentration and thrombocyte alpha 2-adrenoceptor density during long-term antihypertensive therapy with nitrendipine and captopril.
