I've had a stinger in my neck since Monday and it's not getting better. I keep getting these shooting feelings down my arm. Like really sensitive nerves or some shit. I've always thought these guys were quacks. Any experience?

doctors call chiros quacks.

Chiros call doctors quacks.

I think they all all to a degree, but I think both can do some good to help you if they know what they are doing...

bor, like MD's some are bad ...some are good...

I have seen a chiropractor a while ago for my lower back pain and it was a good experience.....my back has improved to some extent...

It all depends who you go to...ask around for some good ones..

WRONG...Ice should have been used!

Nope, never been to a back cracker, never plan on going either.

I was thinking I should just flush the area with synthol. That way I'll have not only a huge trap, but a clean bill of health.

I use a chiropractor. I have 2 disc's in my back that pinch off the nerves in my left arm to the point I can't feel my arm at all. So I decided to give them a try.
The first few times it is actually more painful than it was at first then the body starts to repair itself and before I new it I could use my left arm again.
It doesn't work first time out it takes 8 or so visits to clear up my problem. I go once a year when I need it.
It helps with your back alignment as well leading to better strength balance.

I would recommend them. It's reasonable and can be very helpful.

Cool, thanks. I just had someone recommend one and I'm giving them a ring.

i love mine! I have a leg that is actually shorter then the other and my back was always hurting, now i go once a week and have never felt better and going on 2 years.

plus its affordable.

Chiro's will make you feel better immediately, they'll set you and whatnot. Shit, the dude I saw cracked my spine in ways I never imagined. Walked outta there on clouds.

But it's usually only temporary. It may be worth a shot, but keep all this in mind. Go see a doc afterwards if any issues persist.

And maybe think twice before....fuck, I can think of no good gay or fat reference here. :(

I went to one when I had really bad back pain. He told me I had something wrong, (cant remember what) and cracked me and I felt great when I left!

Got home and started running a huge fever and the back pain got worse.

Turns out I had a kidney infection and nothing was wrong with my back.

Guess depends on where you go - sometimes I think people feel better, but its all in their head. lol. Get a referral from someone you know and try it out. My insurance covered it so I was only out 20 bucks.

jnevertiti, the way i see it a chiro has like zero incentive to actually fix your problems; as long he can temporarily take the pain away each visit you'll keep coming back. Doctors don't really count on repeat business for the same ailment, so they have more of an incentive to do it right the first time. why don't you just visit a GP and have them refer you to someone?

I'm closing a loan for a doctor today. Maybe I'll get a recommendation from her. This thing's unbearable at times. My grip in my right hand is weaker.

Chiros really do work

I'm sure they're are shitty ones

The one I went to helped me with a lot of sports related back pain

Like someone said earlier, I had to go every week for about 8 weeks....

then after that maybe 1-2 times per year

Have you been to one?

Yes, and after three visits and no help, I went to an MD who got me all fixed up. Sometimes drugs ARE the answer.
