Your info is quite wrong when they were created out of 1000 members that try only 2 did make it to the team, the standards were so hard that only 0.02% of everyone graduated.
They based themselve on SAS standard but by 10, because the officers in charge for the program wanted to piss off the blokes down in Crendenhill. Anyway NO, JTF is better than ERT because ours guys are not affraid to squeeze the triggers compared to the mounties affraid of killing someone, and unfortunately the years from 89-92 prove it.
And this is the first and probably the last time I will say it.
But they are composed of 5 Squadrons, each composed of 50 Operators which is composed of 10 bricks(5ops) each Sqd has a job to do, CT, Airborne, SEAborne, etc...
I will be impress the day I see them in a CT operation. Not those "it probably" happened mission like the one in Bosnia. I'll ask the FLQ to hijack an Air Canada 747 at Dorval so we'll see what these guys have inside.......... lol
