This is gonna be the next phase in my lifting career, learning and mastering the oly lifts
where to start?
how should i incorporate them into a weekly routine?
thanks in advance

i can't click links while I'm at work so I'll check that later at home
i don't have rubber weights or anyone to show me so i'm on my own

I sort of do them.

I'll throw in cleans in back day.

Push presses on delt day.

I don't do pure OLY lifts however.

ok. you don't need rubber weights... don't drop the weight... or use rubber mats.

You can learn via the intranets.

lol. stay in the kiddie section. you ain't ready, Gene.
why wouldn't i be ready?
i've pulled and sq'ed over 500 lbs for each...i think i'm ready

You are ready.

My advice is to find a form coach.

If thats not available there are some good links to video on proper form.

I think it's amazing that you weigh below 200 lbs but have squatted over 500.

i should take pics cause i'm sure their is doubters to my claims
a member here, the valley, has witnessed it in person
the first few times i stepped to 5 plates my knees buckled and i collapsed...the dual spotters didn't even have time to spot
thank god i set the pins cause usually i don't
6 plates is my goal between now and next summer, though i gotta get some new wraps mine are blown

honestly it's not that special
an APF meet i attended a 175 lb'er was hitting 650 with ease

damn 500 squat....you really are on top of the game bor.
I strive for repping with 315 w/good form. :(
It's always been my weakest lift.

but i can't rep worth a fuck
i'd be hard pressed to get more than 6 or 7 reps with 315

you squat to parralel? ATF? I've seen some clowns at the gym using near 500 for a quarter rep or two.

I'm working on olympic squatting now...it's a work in progress....hopefully get it nailed down soon.

Ive only done hang cleans, clean and press push presses - nothing from the floor though. I learned a lot of technique from my ex. I did some sets of hang cleans recently and wow was I tore up from the floor up for days after that. yay delts and traps~!

Same in my gym...excet it was with 315 and the spotter had his hands under the lifters armpits and was holding his chest

I usually dont go above 245 for ATF reps these days

wide stance, bar hung low, just right below parallel

See, I can rep out with that, but don't feel comfortable going heavier. It's got to be mental.

I never do ATF squats either. They wreak havoc on my hips, I'm just not flexible that way.

If your gym has kettle bells they're good to use. I've been doing snatches and wood chops (or whatever the fok) with them, and they're great.

my flexibility is horid...likely the source of my squatting woes

Same here....

Spend time stretching the hip flexors and going deep wont be an issue anymore
