I was wandering where straight bars are. I kind of like the techno scene. I have heard the compound is pretty good, anyone been there? Bam

Welcome to the ATL, you need to get outta Duluth & move closer to the city-
Compound is a great club was there last wekeend- I am recently married so I am not as tied in when I was single; But Def try the clubs around Midtown (1150, Leapord lounge, etc.) Compound is the newest-but a little out of the way
Virg Highlands is a good scene but no dancing/just go ol pubs/bars
Backstreets/Club Anytime were great but yeah the city cracked down (mostly cause of Buckhead) and now shit closes at 2:30

Hey Bam...chic here...Compound is actually a great place to go out for both techno and hip/hop. Each genre has it's own area...good mix of people. They actually host some pretty cool parties and such....I just went to their "compound friday night fights" a few weeks ago...pretty darn intense. Bunch of people beating the holy hades out of each other. What guy wouldn't love that?!
Underground atlanta just opened up a string of 5 or 6 bars side by side...each offering a different genre of music. Cool thing about it...you can carry your drink from to place to place and they're open until 4am. Buckhead is pretty much for the birds....only places there worth a hoot would be Fado's in the summer (great hang out)...of course good ol $3 cafe...Tongue and groove is an oldie but goodie and SOMETIMES...if you're up for being pound into a joint like sardines...East Andrews. I think it's a bit overrated myself. (I'm easy on the eyes so i can say that with confidence)
Not sure the age range you're looking to emcompass but if you haven't targeted a fav place as of yet...tell me what you're looking for and what nights of the week you're game for heading out and I'll try and set you in the right direction.
