I made an order online for heartworm meds for my pooch. they contacted my vet for scriptand were denied..I called my vet and they said we dotn deal with online stores u have to buy from us. online its like 1/2 the price. they said online stores re-package and sell bunk stuff. is that true? anyway to get heartworm meds w/o script?

i really dont know if they sell fakes or not
if they did, i dont think they would be in business for very long

No. It's not fake. You can buy frontline and all those meds at petco and stuff if you have the paperwork to do so. It's the same stuff.

Also ask your vet about the generics on some of that stuff. They usually have a few price levels for any of that heartworm stuff etc. I generally buck up and get advantage though since it's flea, tick, heartworm, and a few other things too.

at least half of the heartworm meds I've seen come individually packaged and are going to be very obvious is fake... no one si going to go through teh trouble of using oem pill packaging on fakes... and if they do you'll konw b/c it will look cheesy. Just go to a different vet. If you have one, go to your county animal shelter and they will probably give you one...

petsmart and petco do NOT carry the heartworm meds you are thinking of... they carry frontline yes... which is a different product. Last time I got one, my vet gave me a couple extras for free... It's a common thing for them to only give you one at a time so that every month you have to go in there and risk payign for an entire exam just to get the pill.

Get a new vet, f*cker is lying to you. If he'll gouge you for that you know he'll gouge you for other sh*t. This pisses me off something bad

I'm not a vet, but I have an EXTENSIVE amount of animal experience, including rescue work and breeding, basically you name it I've owned it and usually in multiples: dogs, cats, ferrets, rats, mice, rabbits, hedgehogs, dormice, birds, horses, etc., etc., etc., etc. The online places are perfectly reputable. Their prices are lower because they deal in quantity.

I would call a couple other vets offices in your area and ask their opinion about online pet meds.

If the dog already has heartworms then the med will cause verylittke to stop them, you need to see if he has them first before adding any treatment, the vet will run tests and if positive recommend treatment once crure the animal will nedd the meds,Every Day, or week depending on the lifespand of the medicine, now if its a new born pup he need the meds starting after 3-4 weeks old.
