Any one here shop at GNC?

That place is such a joke. Their prices are tremendous.

There are times when I have to go there, because its convenient, and the sales people are all over me---its really annoying.

I find that I have to be straight out cold to them, then they leave me alone.

Its just crazy that people shop there all the time. Maybe they have no idea how jacked their prices are---hum

I work there, and the way we are supposed to sell stuff is ridiculous. I say "Hows it going, need any help?" and nothing else unless asked. Id prefer to look at the magazines then hover over someone shopping. Only reason I shop there is because of my 30% off

Nope, get my supps for free! But they are sort of reasonable on Super Tuesday. The people that work there crack me up. From my experience they don't know shit about weight training, fitness, nutrition, or supps. They take advantage of so many young, and old customers that don't know any better! But then again those people are sheep so I guess I can't blame GNC.

At both GNCs I've went to, the owners give me Super Tuesday everyday. I don't think most owner's care since they can either get your money now or get it on Tuesday.

Well I work there too and I'm actually kind of proud of my sales technique.

It's simple:

I'm fucking honest. People come in to buy andro, I have them buy creatine. I tell them that I feel that Xenadrine is our best fat burner along with possibly Beta-Lean.

I do push the Bogo (by one get one 1/2 off) discounts, though I dont get a fucking bonus for anything like you would at a corporate GNC.

I never hover over people, but that's what we're expected to do. A friend of mine works at a corporate store and he says he has to be super pushy.

I also have made some friends who I've spent upwards of 30 minutes giving them weight training and nutrition advice.

I also have the highest sales out of any employee at the franchise.

the prices arent outrageous down here in toronto at all. i got some gnc gold card thing and i get 15% off. i get all my protein at gnc and all my supps at a different place cus gnc down here isnt allowed to sell US Ripped Fuel and other good shit.

I tell it to people strate, I won't let them buy creatine unless they are on protein. I tell em something is crap if it is, I do push the bogo because its a good deal, gold card is also good to sell if its beneficail. BTW, if someone doesn't ask me questions, Ill let them go ahead and by what they want (the people that say "Im fine" at everything)

I went there once and bought the SportPharma whey protein in the 5lb bucket..at the time, that was the only protein I liked.....but, unfortunately, that was the only store around that carried it....needless to say, I don't use that protein anymore...GNC is a no go for moi

Use GNC? no chance in hell, i buy all my stuff from dps, i may try george's triple threat stuff though, it sounds pretty good.

I buy everything off of here and other sources on the web.

Hell No!!!

GNC is the most overpriced place you could possibly buy supplements from. I buy from local discounters but if I didn't have those, I'd buy off the web or mail order. However I do check GNC from time to time because sometimes they has crazy blow out prices and mark downed shit. Usually the stuff is past the experation date but hell it's still good.

dont goto a supp store unless you know what you want or you will endup with junk that tastes awful.they sell you the most expensive and worst tasting stuff

more guys like austin should work at supp stores

Frackal and Austin316----

Do you get most your pay from commision working there? Just curious.

Also, to they want you to REALLY, REALLY, push GNC products to the point where I could bitch slap the person helping me? lol

Again, BFL means bodyforlife---so yeah, I use EAS products. When I go in there, I'm looking at the myoplex stuff, and EVERY time, they come up to me and try to sell A GNC brand, and tell me its much better, and totally diss bodyforlife. errrr..

can't you have a body for life without spending the extra dough$$ on EAS. Check those sites I posted above. Proteinfactory.com is a steal.

I really like EAS products, that's why I use them. Plus, I still enter the challenges, and you do have to use the products to enter....But, I use all sorts of other brands as well.

I order my stuff online from all sorts of stores---I will check out proteinfactory and see what they have for sure.

I usually just check all my "favorite" sites, and see who has the cheapest price on what I need, when I need it.

GNC is expensive but I had a gold card which helped. One thing I found about GNC brands though, is with a lot of stuff they cheat you on quality. I bought kelp, GNC brand, and when i got in the car I opened the bottle to take one out and what they called Kelp was in fact 99% white filler of some sort, with tiny little black dots that when I read the fine print I noticed were just "iodine derived from kelp". What???

I returned it and bought another brand, Herbal Select. Which was in fact what they said it was.

I still like to pop in there and get a leanbody bar when I'm craving some chocolate though. :D

Jenn BFL, If you need EAS stuff go to GoodEarth store at Fort Union and 900 east, if you live around SLC. Their prices are really good, about the same as any place on the Internet, but most important they are WAY LESS than GNC. Also a good source for FLAX seed oil.

I work at GNC...

Sure the prices are high as hell on sports nutrition, but you know what, I dont give a fuck if you buy it or not. Most of the time I would prefer that you buy all your sports nutrition online anyway. There is absolutely no margin in spts nut. I may charge you top dollar for Myoplex, but I would make more if you bought a ten dollar bottle of b vitamins.

By saying I, I mean the franchisee, not me personally. I work for a franchisee that doesnt pay comission because he knows all that does is make me sell bullshit prods.

People expect me to act suprised when they tell me they can get myoplex for 39 dollars online. No shit, so can I. Everyone knows GNC is overpriced on spts nut, especially the people that work there. What more besides quality protein and mabye some glutamine do you need? I know nobody here is stacking methoxyfactor and oxydrene with their Deca and Dbol.

GNC's prices on vitamins and herbs are fucking great when you consider the buy one get one half off combined with the Gold Card. All I take is a multi, 2000mg of C, ALA, flax oil and Magnesium aspartate. GNC's prices on all that are excellent.

yep, it sux, I hate when people do it to me, so I don't unless the regional is in the store. Ive been threatened over it befores, but I won't lie, I won't harrass, etc. I make 7.25 plus commision. Usually its 10 an hour (get 5% on all GNC products and specific amounts for 3rd party, Xenedrine=$1 for example) Ive made up to $32 an hour on Super Tuesdays

BTW, the only reason I do buy my protein there is because I get 12lbs for $53 lol, can't beat that

for one, i don't like GNC because of the prices.

second, i'm better off ordering online so i stick to my specific order. If i'm in GNC it's like being a kid in Toys - R - Us and I end up dropping too much cash.

Haven't you seen the GNC ad in the body buidling magazines with the dorky kid and the statement below saying "He thinks Angina is a part of your body."

Yes, their prices are REDICULOUS... If you live in Chicago, SUpplement Warehouse on Clark/Diversy or Life Springs Health Store on Belmont/Clark.
