any one else here training Militia Style ?

I don't know about getting the big bench, but for the past few weeks I have been training militia style. I have since seen my board numbers jump. My raw bench has stayed about the same, but I have been neglecting bottom work, but I am putting speed work and illegal wides back in to work the bottom on raw day. I also need to hit my back more, but militia training will blow up your lockout.

My bench isn't that big compared to the MM guys, but it sure has come along using lots of their methods.

yes, i am a partial convert. i dont do it as often because i train all 3 lifts, but since converting my bench is steadily rising.

535 - meet, june 2002 (pre-militia)
606 - meet, november (started militia-like 6 weeks prior)
625 - meet, april 2003 (actually hit 655 in gym but didnt squat first!)

so, i think it works.

yeah i was wondering who else was getting great gains from this unorthodox ( not Westside ) method. I went from a gym 425 to a meet 500 in about 3 months training with Mike Miller at Nazareth Barbell. I am just stupified at the gain ( sometimes it doesn't even seem real) , 75 lbs in 90 days.

I just watched Steve Castone go from 450 in dec to 610@Bill Crawfords meet a few week ago. The shit is just fucking amazing,(not to forget Bobby Fields stand out performance 720@233#).

METAL militia rules.....I have been doing it for about a month now and I have gained 25 lbs on my bench. Before that i was stuck at the same bench for awhile.Sebastian made me realize how important the set up was.Its an incredible way to train...I recommend it for anyone after a serious rise in their bench.Just be prepared for forearm pain and listen to your body.
