I was too hungover to move or change the channel, but it ended up being pretty good and pretty fucked up. Synopsis:
Chick died in 2002 while on a 30 day spiritual trip with some family members in Honduras (a place she frequented). She had a crew with her on the trip to make a documentary. I'm guessing the tapes from the documentary have been locked up in legal battle this whole time, but they showed them yesterday on this special. Anyway, so she is definitely a little "out there", spritually speaking, but hey, half the people walking around today believe in a dude who was born to a virgin with magical powers....anywho. So, towards the end of the trip she starts bugging out a little and begins to believe that a spirit is after her. A few days later a young local boy runs in front of the car she was driving in. They hit him and he dies a few hours later. His last name was also Lopes. She believed the spirit killed him by accident (misfire on her, if you will). A couple days later the documentary cuts to a shot inside the car that she was driving. It looked like there were at least 4 other people in the car (her family mostly). After a minute you hear them scream and you see the car start sliding out...then the camera dies. They got into a bad wreck. Left Eye was the only person who died...and the only peson who was wearing a seat belt.
Weird shit.

Most people don't really know much about the religion at all - especially what it's truly about.
