hey guys,
I have seen online people talking about making great progress, following this diet in only seven days. Usually when a diet works that fast once you stop it, you gain back twice the weight you lose, what do you guys think?
I really respect Dave Palumbo and respect his knowledge a lot but his diet is complete over kill to me.
To loose body fat, you will have to reduce carbohydrate intake. 100%. Eliminating them completely is unnecessary and counterproductive in my opinion. You can still get lean while including some carbohydrates in your diet. Having some carbs in your diet will keep your muscles full and allow you to train hard. This will prevent muscle loss while dieting and help muscle fullness and size throughout your cut.
The best way to diet to loose body fat is carb cycling. Here is an article I wrote on how to set up a carb cycling diet for fat loss: http://www.evolutionary.org/forums/supplements/carb-cycling-exposed-trevor-44776.html It’s really as simple as consuming a high carbohydrate diet on some days of the week (typically the most demanding training days), and a moderate or low carbohydrate diet on the other days (typically less demanding training days and rest days). Consequently, the high carbohydrate days will raise insulin levels and fill up muscle glycogen stores, which keep the metabolism burning efficiently and stave off muscle catabolism. At the same time, the moderate and low carbohydrate days create a favorable environment for fat burning by keeping insulin levels low.
If you are trying to loose body fat, have the majority of the days low carb days and have 1-2 high carb days per week.
