Any more free file sharing programs? Kazzaa wants credit card, napster dead help!!!

I just want to download a few mp3's and so forth but on my return with my new machine they alll charge. After my fiasco with REAL one charging my card I am NEVER giving my VISA or AMEX over the phone again.

Anyway, Kazza used to be free, Napster dead.



can anyone help me?

PS. My machiine is so slow that I've typed the sentence before it appears, and I'm on a fast machine.......

I am gonna buy Linux because of this shit.

tips on newsgroups:

1. get a premium (in other words, not your ISP, and not a free) news service.. if you do, you'll have so much to download, you'll overdose ...... I use easynews and newsfeeds

(if you don't, you'll complain about the "incomplete binaries")

2. get a client which can deal with multi-part posts (not outlook express or netscape).... i use Forte Agent

(if you don't, you'll complain about how freakin long it takes to "complete" a movie, song, program, etc)

3. learn, learn, learn - (http://tgos.org/newbie/) - (http://netforbeginners.about.com/cs/usenet/)


(if you don't, you won't even understand what the hell usenet means or the method to the madness)

4. learn what PAR, RAR, and YENC are, and what they are used for - (http://www.fsraid.com) (http://www.winrar.com) (http://www.yenc.org)

(if you don't, you won't know why everyone posts in that format, or how to get the programs needed to deal with these formats)

5. most of the people who are in newsgroups tend to be more knowledgeable about the net and related topics than almost anyone in the regular "internet" population (yes, this is up for debate, but averaged out, its true), so read what they have to say!
