Any insect experts? I dont know wtf this was

I just saw this animal that was so strange...... I`ve always been a bio kid who remembers stuff about animals and stuff but i have never seen anything like it.

At first when i saw it, I thought it was some kind of humming bird, but I concluded that was impossible since they dont exist in this part of the world, and it was too small. Also it had some insect traits.

It was about 4cm, 1.5 inch in length

It had moth like wings that were angled backwards, in the shape of a jet fighters wings, with yellow round spots on them at the inner back.

The wings were more like those of a moth than those of a fly or bee. They were not transparant, but brownish except for the one big yellow spot on each

The wings moved at a speed that is higher than most birds, but lower than most insects. You could so to say, "almost" see them move, rather than the blur one sees at a fly`s wings.

Its body was shaped like a saucage/blimp/cigar. The front was the colour of the wings, blurry brown, while the back was BLACK AND WHITE striped/spotted like a cows print

It had a very long tongue, sort of snout, that came out of its blunt head, rather than the head being pointed and ending in one. This snout was perhaps as long as the animal, and looked like a thin blue nylon fishing line.

It was sticking this snout into some flowers, hanging still over them like a helicopter, like hummingbirds do. It did not sit down on the flower, just hover over it.

It had 2 long bent feelers (dont know the english word) that were angled forward and outward and had a thicker part at the end.

it had eyes that seemed to be larger than most insects, and not facetted. but im not sure about them

Its a warm day in Holland

It sucked on like 4 flowers in my garden, went over them all again for some more and just left. I tried to draw it but i think this description is actually better.

Do any of you know about such an animal?

It's possible to have a hummingbird in Holland. Those mofo's fly with the help of the wind, so they'll have to flap their wings like once per hour.

Oh wait. I might have a slight mix-up here with an albatross.

it did not have the head-abdomen-thorax thing going like most insects, at least not very visibly.

in case theres any doubt, im completely serious

You mean Macroglossum Stellatarum Zealord?

I have a latin/dutch insect handbook here and hummingbirdbutterfly is Macroglossum Stellatarum.

The appearance is quite similar indeed, but what about the behaviour? Also i remember the pattern on the back to be more outspoken than in this illustration i have

also it says that species only grows to be 21-24 mm long.
so an inch at most. I could be mistaking but i guessed this one to be larger

i found the motherf. this totally him:
