Here is my issue:
For some reason my shoulders don't warm up to quickly when I bench. I can only increase the lbs moderatly when going through my routine. Here is what it looks like:
set 1 = 135x15
set 2 = 185x12
set 3 = 225x9
set 4 = 275x6
set 5 = 315x2
For some reason I cant jump from 135 to 225 to 315 and get any more reps out than if I do it the above way! Is this common? Any ideas? I would like to get my bench up to something respectable... Sometimes I do a 6th set with 225 just to see how many times i can get it... 20 to 22.
I have the same problem with incline to!

Any help would be great! Thanks!!

have you thought of dropping the weight down on the last 3 sets by 15% or so, and then going for more reps? I'd give that a shot for a couple of weeks and then see what happens when you go back to the normal weight.

I agree this could also be a good idea. Instead of going for your 1 or 2 rep max each time you work chest. Have you looked into the 5x5 or similar programs?

Got this from arnold:
1 - 20 reps
2 - 10 reps
3 - 5 reps
4 - 3 reps max
5 - 3 reps max
6 - 1,2 rep max
7 - drop weight and go for 10 reps
