Razorguns said:Far from it.
The HA's are in a major flux and crisis level these days. I know a few and trust me, business *is* bad.
Hells Angels are almost insignificant and meaningless in most big US cities. They just don't have the #'s to compete against the MS-13's, 18th Streeters, Bloods, Cuban Mafia, Ricos, you name it.
And when you lose control of big cities, you lose control of big markets. When you lose control of big markets -- you lose dollars.
For example in la: The Hells Angels flourish in such exciting areas like Riverside, San Bernardino. Total white trash areas.
Unless you live in a trailer park in rural areas -- you'll probably never even see a HA ever in your life. So their existence is meaningless if you live in any medium to large-sized city.
I think Canada is a bit different due to a lack of hispanic/latin street gangs taking over the trade. But i believe they as well as Asian and Indo-Canadian gangs are making inroads slowly.

ceasar989 said:How exactly to people get into one of these gangs/mafias/groups anyways? Is it all family based/close friends and then just add not so close friends as their pawns?

Over a hundred of these fools were arrested and they had to build a special court house inside the provincial jail to host the hearings. The big heads are all locked up and the few remaining members no longer carry their colorful jackets.
But anyway, the HA were just middle-men for the different mafias around (Italian, Ukranian, russian, jew....). Now these same mafias are using unorganized street gangs for the same purpose. Mostly black and asian gangs with some wiggers around.

The HA's aren't even close to being in a crisis. The FBI estimates they take in 1 billion dollars a year and only have about 2500 members so i think they're doing ok.
Razorguns said:In Kalifornia -- it's even worse.
In our police state -- just being caught once with level III drugs, or even a gun or anythihg that causes a felony -- can mean a nice 3-5 year sentence.
HA's flourish in areas where there is lawlessness. Unfortunately few areas in Cali provide that environment.
Hard to have an organized, stable "club" when members are routinely locked up for 3-5 years and hence, out of operation.
So slowly, the HA's are becoming an "image only" club. Which -- laugh if you want -- really isn't a bad thing. There is no glory in being a criminal. They're going back to their *roots*. Being a *brotherhood*. Of course -- many in the organization, fueled by previous dollars -- are not happy being glorified mascots. Hence the flux and crisis going on. They want to expand, but there's nowhere to expand .. safely.
Breeze said:Most of the expansion is going on overseas. The Outlaws, Banditos and Hells Angels have as many if not more members overseas as they do in America. The Outlaws have chapters all over Germany, England, Norway, Australia, they are even in Russia now. 1% clubs have changed, but the brotherhood is very real and that's what it's really about.
