any hedgehog owners here?

my gf is totally bummed out by losing her hamsters, so i am considering getting her a pet hedgehog.

she can't have a dog, because her apartment complex sucks, and she can't have a cat because i am allergic to them and hate them more than i hate child molesters.

hedgehogs seem like cool pets. supposedly they don't smell, they can't bite your hand off, and they eat anything and everything.

i was thinking about surprising her with another hamster, but hamsters suck. they arent very personable, at all. oh yeah, and they stay up all fucking night long going bat-shit crazy.

BUT you need to give them at least an hour a day. Play with, do whatever you want but one hour or it will become very agressive...

oh, she loves animals...so playing with it won't be an issue.

how sharp are their quills?

oh yeah, and define aggressive?

how much damage can a hedgehog do? one time, she had me hold one of her hamsters while she was cleaning the cage. so, i took the thing and had it sit on my lap while i was doing some homework. well, the fucking thing went under my shirt and sunk its fangs into my stomach and held on.

that was some serious pain.

Well not as sharp as a pin but if you squeeze with a reasonable pressure it will definitely hurt.

By agressive I mean, it will no longer be friendly and if you're on the good side with them, then whenever you try to hold them they'll just roll into a tight ball and wait.
