ive been to at least 100 meetings in my hometown which is plagued by stories of steroids... they just dont get brought up, most in recovery dont consider steroids a drug, unless they have be persuaded by the media that it has no positive effects... also the media tries to spin the positive effects of as into negatives. Its just how it is. I have stopped going to meetings, and have slowed my life down greatly gotten back into working out because for about 6 months i didnt give a shit n my life went to shit. I currently smoke everyday and drink ocassionaly. I have only done roids once if u can call it that (5 days of dbol) but yes Bill W is a hero to many and has helped some i know... god bless him

Ah, you don’t get high off gear, yes it may change your personality,

but not like booze or drugs. You don’t fall in love with gear, (well I guess we do) but not like you fall in love with booze or smack.

Of course it is different but in some ways it is like telling a diabetic that insulin is a drug
And shouldn’t be used in AA.

I have never heard anyone complain about gear at AA, and I am glad I live in California because all the meetings are smoking free.

I use to hate the old meetings, especially in the south where all of us drunks would talk about the steps, staying sober, etc.. and 90% were non-stop smokers.
