Any CHIROPRACTORS in the House? Help.

I have a small issue with my back, and was wondering if anybody on here is a chiro.

For a few weeks now, I have felt something in my back. Not straining or sharp pain, but I just noticed a feeling. It is located in the center of my back at the same height as my belly button (so whatever lumbar that is, I am ssuming it is that). I always shrugged it aside to tight muscles (which I have always had). I started to do stretches 2x a day, when I wake up, and right before I lift, focusing on hamstring, lower back, and hip stretches. The feeling did not go away but it did not intensify.

Yesterday as I was stretching, I felt it pretty noticeable. I continued to lift normally (all heavy compound lifts), and it intensified slightly.
Afterward, it was noticeably hurting. Before I went to bed, ~4 hours later, I felt a little swelling at the spot of where it hurts.
Today it hurts when I bend at the waist and I feel it when I walk.

Like I said, it is located centrally in my back at the same height as my bellybutton is on the front. It doesn't feel muscular because there is no pain in my erector spinae muscles.

I am currently taking 400mg of ibuprofen 3x a day until its gets better, if not, I am going to see a doctor. Still going to lift (light easy iso exercises, no back work)

Any Ideas? k for help.

Belly button level vertebrae is usually L2 or 3.
These Lumbar vert. are ususally not where common injury occurs but...
Have you had any trauma?
What do you do for a job?
How's you water intake & urine production?
Urine needs to be checked for blood, protein... to rule out kidney issue.
Any related Family history.
Does it hurt when you bend side to side?
Do you sit slouched?

All these question are pertinent but, I bet you could use and adjustment, from what you describe is what I usually get from patients when they call and say they need to see me.

Back off on the ibuprofen, your better off taking one aspirin and one motrin or ibuprofen or a combination any of the two.
They all work on different mechanisms so...

Start doing these exercises for 2 weeks:Spinal hygiene

Do alot of the Superman series, for the advanced people.

Let me know if you need a referal.

Thanks for the quick reply!
Let me answer your questions in order:
NO, I have not had any trauma recently.
My job is a full time student.
Water: I intake 3/4 to 1 gallon/day. Urine: I urinate about 1x/hour.
Urine: I see no blood when I uriniate.
Family history: Father has extremely tight hamstrings which leads to back pain. I inherited his genes because I have the same problem. 6 years ago I had a problem with my hamstrings being too tight causing lower back pain (also related to sports), went to chiropractor for 8 weeks, started stretching, resolved my pain. Also found out through x-rays I have an extra lumbar vertebrae (whichever vert. has the bottom most pair of ribs).
Side to side bends: Do not hurt when I bend side to side if standing straight. If leaning forward a bit and bend sideways it hurts.
Slouching: Yes I slouch. Pretty much all the time when I am in class (I know it's bad).

Thanks for your help. I will start taking 1 aspirin and 1 motrin together.

I have been wanting to get adjusted for some time. I've waiting for when I get a chance to go visit my cousin, who is a local chiropractor. Looks like I need to get in there sooner.

I appreciate the link for exercises. I do the "prayer" and "cat" stretches often.
