Any Bouncers around?

A few years ago at the Vauxhall Tavern. It was bad then, too many dickheads wanting to start shit. Now these same dickheads carry and are willing to use knives. Would'nt do it again.
 
Dream on strip club. S.L.C. utah. This place is definatly a ghetto club but it pays well.

How do you get to be a bouncer.. I'd love to be one. Any tips? Other than looking intimidating enough.. is there any other key's to becomming a bouncer?

I think that's my one major disadvantage.. I don't have height on my side.. I'm 5'9 238lbs I won't lie.. I've got a moderate gut.. but I"m still a 36waist

The last chest and shoulders measurmeant I took was 54" and that was a year ago.. before I started training heavy.
I've got the 21" arms.. (immed after a workout I'm a little over 21.5)

although.. I suppose I could wear some sort of heels .... but really.. how intimidating is that.

I was a bouncer at a strip club in Miami for a few months.. I wasnt the biggest dude in security but I had the height at 6'3" 215lb.. nobody did any more than talk a little smack at the door cuz we had a 6'7" 300 lb brotha who woulda tore anyone up who got past me..
 
Ex Bouncer here, dance club in On, Canada. Was 5"9', 205lbs, when I worked there. I got the job when some 150lb weasel kept trying to pick a fight with me and I was more interested in not going home alone then fighting. Bouncers saw the whole thing, realized I could have squashed him like a zit, hired me on the spot. Just wish I was taller though, seems like even the women are taller than me now!!
 
I have been a bouncer for about 6 months, I love it, many women every night, drugs a plenty, free beer (I don't drink, but sounds good), free member ship to all local clubs, half ass pay!


I am 6' 2" 230lbs, the leanest bouncer at my club, almost ready to compeat in my first show.... :D
 
I bounced for two years while in college. At the time I was 6'0, 230 lbs 10-12% bf. I'll tell you from experience that size really has nothing to do with being a successful bouncer. Some of the best bouncers, in terms of scrapping, I worked with were between 175-190 but KNEW how to handle a fight. They would make fools out of guys twice their size. I don't pride myself on being a fighter, I can hold my own, but relied heavily on physical intimidation. It worked! Bouncing isn't all that galmourous either, if you look beyond the free drinks, you see tons of people acting like idiots while you'rs stone sober. Plus there is the restocking of the bar at closing! Boy am I glad those days are over!:D
 
EX-Bouncer - Uconn area. At the time I was 5'11' and 220 at about 10% bf.

SCSUfb84, Is the "sports page" a cool bar to go to? Many fights? I've been to "the bar" and like that place...
 
"AFTER HOURS CLUB" 2-6am get some good ones in here--provide us with mace and handcuffs but I refer good old fashioned violence :)
 
Superfoot, ya the Page is a really good on Thursday night only when school is in. And yes there are alot of fights, shootings and stabings it sucks but hey thats Bridgeport for ya!!!! Stop by Bro and we can chill:D :D
 
Needsize, what city in Ontario? I've bounced in a few different clubs back when I was 19-20. I still do raves once in a blue moon just for some extra dough.

I did it for 8 years and still do on occasion if the price is right, I did give it up at one point because I was going to kill someone or get killed, bouncer burnout.

I worked with a few gay bouncers. If you were good looking and charming, you could get to the front of the line with a few of those guys. I preferred dealing with the ladies...lol
 
I have bounced at about every club here in charlotte, Bar Charlotte, Underground, Mythos, Fat Tuesdays, Amos's, its not even fun anymore, it actually pretty much sucks now.
 
I bounce at a local college bar here in Ithaca. Pays alright, better when people buy back there shitty ass fake I.D.'s for $100 bucks a pop (rich as momma's boys, and asian kids on trustfunds). I am only 5'10" 185lbs but down to 165 for wrestling season. That may be small, but when it goes down lets just say it's taken care of. And if it goes down on a night before I have to make weight . . . someone's liable to leave in a body bag.

Very, very nice club but we get our share of problems.
Great women, great money, three day weekends. I love it !
