Anxiety Attacks

I used to take Hydroxycut for a long time and never noticed this, but lately Ive been really anxious about stuff that for any other reason I would brush off, and have been extrememly worried about getting arrested for the lamest stuff. I dont smoke, and try not to drink but only on the weekends. I am currently taking Gut Cutter, Glutamine, Protein powder/bars, multivitamen, Flaxseed Caps, Glucosamine, and ZMA. I am guessing the increasing nature of my anxiousness is due to taking Ephederine again, any thoughts on this issue?

Try Paxil - 25mg should do the trick. I've been on it for 3 months now and feel great. If it's good for Ricky Williams, it's good for me!

Anxiety

Im wondering more if the Ephederine is the culprit, not as much as what to take to keep it from happening. But if there are any OTC remedies that might work, let me know... Im not too hot about having on my record Im taking any sort of scripts that show a possible mental imbalance, unless that is the worst case scenario and I would be diagnosed with something (know what I mean??).

The only times I've experienced anxiety that really affected me in a negative way was during the times that I was not on ephedrine.

I've felt anxiety while on ephedrine, but it was more of a good anxiety, like I could take on the world and I was itching to get to the gym.

The anxiety I felt while I was off, I believe was a mental manifestation of subconcious stress I was putting on myself from work. Nasty feeling too, I was sweating, my heart racing and I was having trouble breathing..............all the while I was taking no supplements whatsoever.

I get a little depressed and sometimes panic over stupid things. I think it kind of diet related as well though. Make sure your EFA's are a good balance of 3's 6's and 9's, it usually helps me think more clearly.

yup, i have to agree on the EFA's. since i upped my daily EFA intake my mood has considerably improved and i feel really good.

you could also look into 5-htp.

Ephedrine used to be my favorite drug. Cycled it for ~ 5-8 years.
A few years ago, I stayed on too long and I think I was phsyiologically addicted to it. I had a bitch of a time through withdrawal. Freakin' lethargic. I had to start taking it in the morning just to get to work (not the gym).

Anyways, ever since then, I've definetely noticed my anxiety go up whenever I take it. I still take it now though on occasion. I feel that if I don't have a stomach full of food, my energy takes a nosedive. Then my attitude.

Sorry I can't say how to avoid it. I just try to not take it anymore myself.

I started taking paxil a few months ago:mad: . Dont do it. i used to be a literal every day gym goer, but while i was on it it made me lazy as hell. i just recently went to my doctor and had him switch my meds. i was always tired on the paxil and i put on negative weight. now that i am opn effexor xr i hope things are better. i would say that if you go onto any SSRI i would definately stay away from effedrine. the combination of the two could have really bad effects. hope this helps

My Experience with ephedrine:

Bro, I have a serious problem with ephedrine. The first week on i feel invincible. Like a million bucks. Never tired and could do 2 workouts in a day. The second week i start punching things and getting mad over stupid shit. by the end of the second week i get severe depression, dizziness and pains in the chest. that scared feeling you get when you thought that mack truck was coming straight at you, i would get that feeling for no reason at all. everyday stress became intensified, like it was the end of the world, it go to the point where i became afraid of what i might do to myself if i stayed alone. this happened one time a long time ago with Up Your Gas. i just never put 2 and 2 together. now i know its from ephedrine.

If I were you i would get off the shit fast before it gets any worse. it took 4 to 5 full days before the chest anxiety pains completely went away. the ups from hydroxy was not worth the downs. i gave them to my buddy and he can take 8 caps at a clip and deosn't feel a thing off them except energy and a little jitters. So jealous, it just doesn't agree with my body and sounds like its not for you either. I hope this helps.

I'm experiencing something similiar to the above. I've been taking Dymetadrine Xtreme from AST for the last couple of years and this last month I stopped taking it. I only took it on the days I worked out, but since I've stopped I feel very tired at work and throughout the day. The worst part is my strength has gone down some and it sucks! I really didn't think it was affecting me too much (ex. increasing strength), but now it's starting to show. I want to stay off it and see if my strength returns, but I hate not getting all my reps in! Hopefully my strength will level out.

I didn't really get anxiety. I guess that might have been because I took it right before my workout and after my evening workout I would go to bed. I never took it any other time.

I love the Dymetadrene... gotta cycle off it though to keep from getting really tired, and its hard since its only in 1 pill per serving format... you might have considered switching to something like beta lean and taking only 1 tab per day (2 serving size) for about 1-2 weeks to wean off it.

Yeah, I hear ya. The thing is Dymetadrene isn't marketed to be cycled. It just says take 30 mins before your workout and it doesn't say "Don't use for extended periods" or "gradually decrease dosage when finishing off bottle" or whatever, so you don't think it's going to affect you too much when you stop, like a cycle of 1-Test or something.

Anyway, I'm on a cycle of Super One+, so hopefully I'll get some good gains.:fro:

Let me know in a few months if you start to gain weight (fat) and your metabolism slows down. SSRI's (the class of AD Paxil is) & MAIO's are notorious for this.

It's proven that anti-depressants cause unhealthy weight-gain. Not to mention they tend to "poop-out" after a certain amount of time and cause awful rebound axiety. I speak from experience.

I've been on 7 different types of perscription anti-depressants for mild depression and anxiety. It took me 2 months to recover from dependancy and withdrawl. The companies claim they are non-habit forming...but suffers know better. Paxil is DEFINITELY not a quick fix. I would certainly re-evaluate your diet and single out what may be the culprit.

Stimulants can most certainly cause anxiety. Either cut down on the dosage or experiment with some other form of energy boosting.

I'm lucky that I have a high tolerance for most substances and that even with an axiety disorder I can handle two ephedrine containing capsules (~15mg) a day.

My experience with anxiety attacks have been horrible to say the very least.I don't know how many times Ihave been to the emergency room to havr them tell me I'm fine.I have been on paxil for 6 months and this worked for the anxiety but,I just didn't feel the same, not my usual self. Liike I was in some type of slower state of reality, weird It is hard to explain. So i stopped the paxil cause it was just not for me.Iballooned from the use of paxil to 235 lbs. And diet ,exercise, hardly help with the weight. I have lost 4 lbs in 2 in a half months. The BEST thing I have done was to eliminate most caffine plus coffee, sodas"my intake of caffinated drinks was obscene."I also use "nighttime herbs" by" NOW "which help me to relax at the end of a day. This loses its effect if taken on a regular baisis though. My question is ,Does anyone have any experiences or thoughts on the new fat burners like "MM4,nitrocuts,octopamine,thermics" ect. Diet an exercise just won't due it for me an I'd like to fit into my old clothes by summer so i don't have to buy a new Wardrobe.I just don't know,WHERE DID MY METABOLISM GO!

in my experience, the ephedrine is the culprit. stop taking it, or if you have to take it only before workouts....then at least you can lift, punchmrun etc... and get the anxious feelings out.

I have been using Hydroxycut for two years know. I use to get anxiety attacks because I was NOT using it properly.

I don't know how all of you use it, but I find you need to eat after an hour of use. I know if I wait about two hours I am fucked. I shake, things that don't bother me do and I become a bitch.

You need to eat an hour after, don't take four pills then go run like 5 miles and don't take more pills then suggested. You also need to take time off of ephedrine now and then.
One thing people do and it piss's me off is abuse the use of ephedrine and know Hydroxycut and other things have become ephedrine free.

Just be careful when using ephedrine. Read the back of the bottle. There is a reason that directions are there. :) If you do read and follow direction and still fill like shit then maybe you need to lower your dose or just quit taking it. Some people are more sensitive then others.

I am not trying to be a bitch here it is just that the FDA is now taken it of the shelf.

Just my 2 cents. :)
