I usually shake tragedy quickly.
This one is sticking in my chest pretty hard.
Laying here with my newborn girl on my chest wondering why anyone would possibly want to hurt something like this.

This feels so much worse than anything in recent history. Something about robbing a child of their life and innocence is horrible. Robbing a family of their blessing is sick.
A captain in my unit went off his rocker after he waxed a 12 year old kid on our first tour of Helmund province afghan.
Kid was taking popshots at us and turns out some insurgents had kicked his door open and put a gun on his mom and sister and told him if he didn't go shoot at the Americans they would kill them in front of him....
Captain needed serious help after that

Disappointment in mankind is what it is for me. That and the fact my pregnant wife works in a school.
She told me earlier that a kid got caught on the bus earlier this year with a gun on his way to school. That was swept under the rug. Then another kid starts a fire in the bathroom and later is found to have a knife on him. Parenting really sucks these days.
