Another reason to aspirate

trinidad

New member
Someone had posted this a while back, I don't remember who but the same thing happened to me, only their's was in the shoulder and mine in the glute. I injected today and aspirated. When I did, I noticed pus in the syringe. I guess I have some kind of infection or something going on in there so I had to reshoot in the other glute. Now, whoever it was that posted their incident before used syringes to suck the pus out but I think I'll just keep an eye on the area and see what happens. Just wanted to share!

if u were drawing out pus dont u think it'd be a good idea to get it checked out? Did you inject the puss filled AAS into the other cheek?

Yeah, if you just changed needles, you'll have a nice infection going on both sides. I hope you trashed the whole syringe.

I scrapped the whole thing. It was 1 cc. of enan. so it was no big loss.

a true champ would have ran it thru a filter then injected it into his o-ring

O.k., I found the original post and it was by gilly6993:

Another reason to always aspirate......

We always talk about why you should always aspirate.....so you don't inject into a blood vessel.....while many do still some don't....well, here's another reason.....

I went to inject into my left delt yesterday.....now granted I use my delts a lot, probably more than I should....I always use a 1" pin.....so I go to inject and aspirate and holy shit I aspirate pus into the syringe.....now I had no signs of anything in the shoulder except for some slight discomfort I attributed to a training injury....no sweeling, no redness, and no discomfort when pressing on the area.....the discomfort I thought was a training injury started last week....so I used a bunch of pins and drew out a few cc's of pus.....when I got home later in the day I did it again useing both a 1" and 1.5" pin until I aspirated bright red blood.....

So what was it?.....a sterile abscess....basically it's an infection that is completely encapsulated in epithelium.....there are no local or systemic (fever, sickness) signs of an infection.....this is not to say it would not have come to that but it could sit there for quite some time without detection......the only way I found it is by aspirating.....

If you get one what should you do?.....GO TO A DOCTOR.....do not try and treat it yourself like I did.....I am a doc and am friends with many docs so I know what I'm doing.....I drained it via aspiration and put myself on a Z-pak (zithromax) for 10 days.....if any complications arise I'll get an MRI to determine what tissue damage, if any, is present.....

just thought I'd share
