b fold the truth

Elite Strongman
Platinum
Who turned on the Heat today? It was 98 degrees and VERY humid today (90%+)...AND brian747478's birthday:)

My hamstring tendon is feeling better and I am starting to be more confident on it. It gave me some problems on Thursday but it felt 'ok' on Friday. OK enough to play basketball for about 45 minutes (Nefi beat me 1-on-1 two games in a row by the way...lol).

705 Super Yoke. I just need more confidence. It felt VERY light and I could have walked forever with it. I didn't wear any sort of belt either...I just need to be able to do this without thinking about re-injury...

Working with the kettle bell. I need a more solid handle...lol. Words can't express how hard these are...lol

Nefi came back to train with us today. She decided to try some of the events that will be at the women's Nationals (U.S. Nationals so she does not qualify because she is not a US citizen).

She did some light runs with the Farmers Walk implements for sets of 100' with a turn. This helped get her body warmed up.

2" Thick Bar Overhead Press with 102 pounds :)...for reps

Timed Holds with 125 each farmers. Working on her grip.

Playing with the kettle bell...

We actually thought that she was going to flip the 550 tire today. That would be near 5x her body weight...lol. I just begin to wonder what she could do if she would lift weights of some sort...lol.

Here is the birthday boy. He set a few PR's today too!!! He just seems more relaxed, in better shape, better conditioning, and stronger every week.

I believe that he took 615 for 25-35' on the yoke with NO support gear today...which was a gearless PR for him...big time.

655 on the Super Yoke, also a PR...

Kettle bell... He has an interesting technique. He throws it up then runs...FAST!!!! :)

He also had a good day on the Stones. He loaded the 190 to the 61" platform a few times...and with so much ease it wasn't funny.

You can see from these pics how close he was getting to putting the 245 stone on the 61" platform. A little technique work and he will be putting the 265 up there with ease...

We all had a good fun day today. Jason is recovering from a slight shoulder injury and everyone else is either finishing up Summer School or getting ready for the Fall.

I am feeling more confident in myself and my events/gym lifts. It takes time...and I have time. All I can ask is that I am better than I was the week before.

I can't wait till next Sunday...

Enjoy...

yea happy birthday old man.

b: those are some nice lifts. that's sweet that the yoke was pretty easy for ya at that weight. i knew it would be. wish i couldve been there. looks like you guys had some fun w/the events today.

We did have fun. I'd still like to take 795-800+ for a run on your yoke pretty soon. I need me a yoke like yours...badly.

great lifts. did it feel weird B doing a normal good morning after doing chainsuppended gm's for so long???

that 310 stone is a heck of a lift. pretty soon your going to look like that picture you sent me of svend loading a 484 stone.......lol cheese can give you pointers if you need help kicking svend's rear end.

shane your looking large man........... happy birthday, your officially almost over the hill...lol

nefi......... your a beauty and a beast.

B fold, how high can you get the 56? There is so much technique involved. If you watch Wout Zilstra(wr holder) do it he is very calm and puts his whole body into it. Plus he does alot of olympic lifts. I read his favorite lift is power cleans.

Very impressive work from everyone.

Bfold- your leg is healing up just fine now just the mental game, looking strong throughout the whole workout.

Shanus- happy B-day bro, looking real strong I might add. Keep at it real hard for nationals

Exodus: Chain Suspended GM's are much easier...lol. If you can break them off the chains it is only a one way movement. Regular gm's are a two way movt. I'd like to do close to 600 the way that I did them on Sunday...and soon. I may wear a belt though...not sure.

dood: I have the video of him setting the WR on it actually. Mine is much harder I believe...till I get a solid ring for a handle. I could barely get the 56 9-10'...lol

18 feet and 5.5 inches. 56 pounds is the standard weight. Lately they have had some highlands games on espn. B fold, ironmind sells real 56 pound weights but they are pretty expensive. Weight for height rocks. One of my favorite strongman events.

When I get a few more dollars to spare...I plan to make mine a lot better. I think that one can be built, a decent practice one, for less than $10 if you have the small plates to put on it already...
