Another Fun Sunday, 5-04-03

b fold the truth

Elite Strongman
Platinum
It was a fun one and I am trying to set myself up for a few PR's in the not so distant future. I plan to beat my PR on the deadlift, tire flip, and the super yoke in the next 5 weeks.

RIGHT CLICK AND 'SAVE TARGET AS'!!!!

Deadlift (volume day)
several warm ups
500 x 1
550 x 1
590 x 1
621 x 1
660 x 1

Cheese 522 x 1
Jason 430 x 1

Front Squats (plan to hit 315 next week easily)
135 x 3
225 x 1
275 x 1

Cheese 225 x 2
Jason 275 x 1

Pull Throughs
medium band x 10
heavy band x 10

Standing Calf Raises
275 x 10 x 3 sets, PR!!!!
Cheese 275 x a bunch...

Hercules Hold (slightly thicker and rolling handles)
170 each hand x 30 sec
200 each hand x 58 seconds
200 each hand x 30 seconds

Tire Flip
675 tire x 75' in 42 seconds (PR but not my goal of 34) :(
550 tire x 50' fast
The 675 tire is fairly slick and slides easily. When I was nearly finished the tire slid on the ground and I dropped it mid flip once...maybe cost me 3-5 seconds.

Super Yoke
several warm ups
710 x 100' in 16.40 seconds (PR but I want it under 13 seconds)
760 x 25' in 7.xx seconds

Atlas Stones
160, 185, 190, 245, 265, 285 all in a series, pretty fast
Cheese stones, 160, 185, 190, 245, 265, 285 miss
Jason stones, 160, 185, 190, 245, 265 miss, hurt back on first stone
brian747478 stones, 160, 185, 190, 245, 265, 285 miss...STRONG

Give me a few minutes before you post anything...PLEASE!!!! Let me upload the pics first...

Hercules Hold...quite painful. I could tell that I had done a lot of work on Saturday. I built some platforms (by hand) for the log press and my hands were pretty worn out. Either that or I have become a grip wuss overnight...lol

Cheese's time was 57.10 seconds...only .9 seconds under mine. He really went through a lot of pain. I must give him credit!!!!

Well, that is about it. A STRONG day from the crew here at my place. EVERYONE is getting better for sure. I think that brian747478 is still showing lots of improvement and he just gets bigger every single week. It is hard to believe that he still weighs under 225.

Enjoy...

HUGE!!

nice deadlifts, though i thought you had more than one in ya. :)

I'm sure that I did...but pushing it now will not get me a PR in a few weeks. I plan to get 722 or so soon.

Clint, I drove by sunday, you all were doing the tire flip. Looked fun. We had been to Memphis for the Beale Street Music Fest and had to drop a buddy off in Murray. We would have stoped but we were all hung over and wanting to get home and get to bed. You all are some really big guys. The hard work has really paid off. Keep at it, I will be there one of these days, count on it!!!

Hey Bfold that was a sweet mullet on your gf's friend...lol sorry I couldn't resist

anyway I was wondering where I could get a tire like those and for how much? I always thought they were like a couple of grand?

How was Jason's back the next day? Looked pretty painful from the video.

Very impressive that he completed the stones even after hurting himself on the first one. Kudo's to him.

Another sick workout :)

Cheese kinda' scares me with his deadlift though.

Why is that? It was basically a 1RM for him and I expect him to get 550+ in the next 5 weeks.

His form scares me sometimes...all lower back.

You should have at least stopped by and said hello man. We all pushed ourselves pretty hard on the tire flip...we would not have minded a break...lol.

Hmmm...my girlfriend is 5'1" (nearly) and one fiery woman. She DEFINATELY has a mean streak not to be messed with.

I got all of my tires for free. Go to a construction company or a rock quarry and ask them. Call every place in the book till they give you one. They have to pay BIG $$ to dispose of them (thanks to the EPA) so they are happy to GIVE you one.

It was the vigorous rocking back form. :( I was really glad he made the pull though.

Tremendous pull!

Joker

I haven't talked to Jason. He needs a lot of work on his back. He has very strong legs and a weak back. I noticed this when I was comparing Jason with brian747478 on the Super Yoke. Brian stands up with it with ease but has a hard time walking with it. Jason has a very hard time standing up with the weight but can walk with it much faster.

I will stop in for sure next time. I'll be sure to stay away from the tires though!!! I would look like a fool next to you all.

Yeah..he was 'hitching'. Not legal in a PL meet at all...
