Another Day's Strongman Training with PICS

fun training day with cliff today. we went to gym and did chain suspened gms 36 inch first. i hit 225 for a 1 rep max. he did not do them.
then events
50inch stone 10 times
54 inceh stone 2 times
300lbs sled 100 ft me
250lbs sled 100ft cliff
deadlifts with axle +90lbs 5 reps
farmers 110 in each hand for 100 feet down 100 back.
was a fun day i am the lighter one in the pics cliff is the darkie.
i am 6 2 190 and cliff is 5 9 170

hey thanks, i do not know how much the stones weigh by math they are 170 and 216 but i have never weighed them. and the axle i have never weighed either i will do that this week after i get another scale i broke my scale weighing the first rock.;)
 
These pics are very cool too. You guys look pretty good sized also...and I can't wait to see how these events help to strengthen your body as well as help make it bigger...

Thanks clint you were my inspiration for all this. i got all my ideas from u. and i went to your site and saw your transformation and stuff and was like damn i wanna do that. i think i am pretty small though, u would have no clue i lift if u saw me in life. being 6 2 makes you small till u hit the mid 200s i think:( . but oh well i have only been training for 6 months maybe soon i be able will to come to one of your things and stand a chance:) . anyhow i just wanted to say thanks and i will keep you updated on me and cliffs progress. oh yeah and i have an idea for a duck walk thing after seeing yours;) and i think i am gettting my tire on wed:D .
 
I love this stuff I been out of shape for a bit though stupid women interrupting my training. But this style of training seriously reawaked the fire I have for training my body to become strong.
 
Just curious...but what is sore today? What do you feel was really worked hard by the events yesterday?

How do you think this will affect your training during the week?

Do you think that you can back off the weights and allow some of the events to make up for it (growth/progress that is)?

So far only the Tendons in my forearms are hurting. Once we get the tire and duck walk into the mix I think I might change my own methods, but for right now I won't be backing off from gym training.
 
i'm with cliff on this one only the tendon that goes across my elbow into my bicep hurt but its fine now. i am a mechanic and since i use the muscles all day i seem to never get sore. i guess it is good active recovery. i could hardly get up this morning after sleeping for 11 hours. my legs and glutes and arms were sore basically everywhere but after a few hours at work i felt 100%. i have not dropped weights at the gym i wanted to see if i could recover or not by seeign how much my body can take. i watch my pulse in the morning too to see if it rises significantly in the up coming weeks. last time i over did it i was at 95 when i woke up in the morning i am usually at like 40-45 sooo. i alos changed my routine to incoporate more things to help my events. such as more overhead work and less benching i will let you know what else changes as soon as i get everything strait. right now i am just testing the waters.:fro:
 
oh yeah we just weighed the stones and axle. weel the results were 160 240 for stones and 180 for axle. but then i got home and checked scale and it was 20 off for me and 30-40 off for my dad. teh heavier things got the more off it was. i dont know when it broke but if it was the first one then the big stone is about right at 240ish the little would be 180ish and the axle would be 200ish. which is about right.
