another ab question...

OH Shit!!!

This is going to take some work!

Abs everyday = overtraining (especailly for beginners) = increased chance of back, neck, shoulder & jaw injuries

Want to see the abs = low body fat! no such thing as spot reduction

Cardio sucks compared to weight training for overall calorie expenditure in a 24 hr time period

women especially need to focus on the TVA, lower rectus & obliques. Crunches are the most over used & abused exercise and lead to bad posture, neck, head & jaw pain

Abs are fast twitch muscles for explosive flexion & rotation of the torso - they need resistance to be trained properly

Non- chemically enhanced females have low test levels and can not build large blocky abs - unless they goto Haggen Dazz

high rep training for abs is useless except for endurance athletes who need a mix of both strength & endurance training for the abs

Machines are useless (not cable stacks) for ab training and usually lead to low back pain!! Due to improper form & setting the machine wrong.

I saw this lady at the gym one time, she only did abs when I saw her and apparently that's all she ever did. She had a fair amount of body fat, but her abs were so big you could see them under her fat. It was pretty strange.

I agree with that. Needsize has given us quite a nice ab routine to follow. I do it twice a week, and it works nicely. Remember, don't go down too far. A 45 degree angle or more is fine, too far and you hurt your lower back.

Hasnt been workin me out enough so I changed it to 5 seconds at 45 degree then slowly go down to back damn near touching for 5 seconds slowly bringing it back up so a total about 15 seconds instead of the 5 originally taught

it helped :o
