Ankle weights

I have a pair of ankle weights ... im trying to work on my speed and blastoff (the line of scrimmage) for football. Should I use the ankle weights and when should I? Just walking around the city ... etc (during work ... etc)

if you wear a weighted vest all the time (literally ALL THE TIME) and ankle and wrist weights, and just always live and function while wearing it- EXCEPT during gametime, it will function like the gravity chamber that goku trained in on the way to namek.(meaning you will have superpowers for a little while)

its true i think i read it on here somewhere

According to Harvard Medical School:

Wear ankle weights: If you're in good shape and want to really challenge yourself, wear ankle weights and run up and down the steps of a high school stadium or bleachers. But do this with caution, because there's added stress on your joints.

I don't like it. You want to be faster off the line but the ankle weights wil slow you down when you are practicing, until you adjust to them. What they will train you to do is to eventually be the same speed with more weight. They will slightly alter your form in order to accomodate for the weight.

I would encourage you to practice running downhill where your legs can naturally turn over faster. I belive that skill work is probably more beneficial to you than strapping weights to your extremities!

box squats, hacks, lunges, and other power moves wilkl give you that sick burst off the line. always worked for me.

i have a pair of 20 pound ankle weights. other than for some static holds, they are useless. why bother with wearing a pair aorund all day and looking like a jackass when if you put your time into the 1-1.5hrs needed to squat, deadlift, snatch, etc, you'd get a thousand times the results?

i would add in some resitance running ie, tire drags, bungie runs, ect.

When working out with weights do explosive movements itll work the fast twitch fibers and theyre the ones needed for speed. so the studies say
